Regarding the power system, affected communes have contacted electricity and telecommunications units to coordinate in handling the incident. Households with damaged roofs or houses have been evacuated to ensure safety.
Previously, from the afternoon of July 19 to the early morning of July 20, Thanh Hoa province experienced showers and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 10-40mm. Some places recorded heavier rain such as Co Lung (89mm), Phu Le (77.6mm), Thanh Son (74.8mm). During the thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind of level 7-8 were recorded at Nga Son meteorological station and Thanh Hoa meteorological station. According to the forecast of the provincial hydrometeorological station, from July 21, the sea area of Thanh Hoa will have strong winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8; then increasing to level 8-9, gusting to level 10-11, rough seas, waves 2-4m high. On land and along the coast, winds are forecast to gradually increase to level 6, gusting to level 7; inland, level 5-6, gusting to level 7. There is a high risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, and flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas. |
