BHG - On the afternoon of July 9, the Government held an online conference on promulgating and updating the Plan for implementing the National Power Development Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired the conference. Comrade Hoang Gia Long, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired at the Ha Giang bridge; also attending were leaders of a number of departments and branches.

On April 1, 2024, the Prime Minister approved the Plan to implement the 8th Power Plan. This plan plays an important role in orienting the development of the electricity industry in particular and the energy industry in general in the process of development and integration of the country. The plan to implement the VIII Power Plan complies with current legal regulations, aiming to build a roadmap for effective implementation of programs, projects, and plans to meet the set planning objectives, meet the electricity demand for socio -economic development in each period, ensure electricity is one step ahead; strongly shift energy from fossil fuels to new energy sources, renewable energy, meet sustainable development and global trends...
For Ha Giang province, according to the plan to implement the Power Plan VIII, phase 2021 - 2023, vision 2025, the Thai An Hydropower Project is planned to potentially expand by 41MW. Regarding small hydropower sources, the Prime Minister has approved 37 projects in the province, with a total capacity of 330.9MW. Currently, 30 projects have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment with a total capacity of 279MW and are actively being implemented to ensure progress.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized: Electricity is an important infrastructure sector, electricity development must be one step ahead to create a foundation to promote rapid and sustainable development of the country. The Deputy Prime Minister requested relevant ministries and branches to urgently study and issue regulations and investment policies for electricity projects under the Plan to implement the 8th Electricity Master Plan; develop a national program on science and technology, and train high-quality human resources for the new energy and renewable energy sectors.
For the local groups that have fully met the allocated capacity targets, the Deputy Prime Minister requested to quickly implement them according to the set schedule and targets, ensuring efficiency and economic benefits. At the same time, determine the responsibilities and coordination mechanisms between ministries, branches and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities in implementing power source and transmission infrastructure projects, ensuring comprehensiveness, comprehensiveness and feasibility.
