Casio Launches Comfy JT-200T Desktop Calculator: Demonstrating a Long-Term Vision with ESG

Casio says the JT-200T has been completely redesigned with a new development philosophy: “Friendlier to people, lifestyles and the future.” This philosophy is reflected in the materials: 59% of the body is made from selected recycled plastic, combined with white-gray mica to create a slightly grainy surface effect that is both natural and luxurious.

In the office equipment segment, this is a rare recycled material ratio, demonstrating Casio's efforts to reduce emissions and optimize material life cycles.

The surface of the machine is finished using Japanese shibori technique, which is a technique of creating rough texture on the surface of the computer case to prevent scratches and increase grip, giving a very natural feeling when holding it.

The Comfy JT-200T is also part of Casio's plastic reduction roadmap, after the company completely eliminated plastic packaging from 2023, switched to using 100% recycled paper and helped reduce up to 81% of plastic consumption each year.

These changes show that Casio is not just applying ESG in slogans, but making ESG a new production standard.

Despite the drastic changes in design, the Comfy JT-200T still retains the Casio identity that is familiar to millions of users worldwide. The company maintains the traditional key layout, optimal key bounce and accuracy when entering data - factors that have made Casio famous for decades.

Small details are also refreshed in minimalist language, the solar panel is moved to the side of the body to keep the front neat, the font is inspired by the 1972 Casio Mini, creating a feeling of both technology and nostalgia.

One of the valuable improvements is the smart folding stand, creating an 8-degree tilt angle, improving data entry speed and maintaining a natural posture for the user whether sitting at a desk or standing at the counter.

The anti-slip rubber part is molded into the body, making the device more durable in high-intensity usage environments such as offices, stores, supermarkets or checkout counters.
