Historical relics have opened, lanterns are lit brightly, creating a sparkling, vibrant Hoi An as if it had never experienced a great flood.

Alvaro Calderon Gomez, a tourist from Spain, expressed his surprise: “I really didn’t think this place had just experienced a big flood. Everything was clean, orderly, the houses were still very beautiful. The efforts of the people and the government were amazing, making my trip more meaningful.”

According to Mr. Luong Van Hai, a tour guide, the proactive response and clean-up work after the flood by the government and people of Hoi An is a key factor in helping tourism recover quickly.

“As the water receded, people cleaned up. Many roads were covered in mud and rubbish, but after only two days, they were clean. Thanks to that, tourism quickly restarted, and visitors can comfortably walk on the roads,” Mr. Hai shared.
