With the theme "Welcome New Year 2026", a series of attractive and unique traditional cultural activities will take place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Doai Phuong, Hanoi) in December 2025.
Accordingly, the cultural beauty of the New Spring through rituals, festivals, customs, and highland market spaces will help visitors better understand the traditional values of ethnic groups, thereby enhancing the spirit of preserving, promoting and advertising national heritage; enhancing exchanges between ethnic groups, solidarity, cohesion and mutual support for development on the occasion of the New Year 2026.
The organizers said that the activities within the framework of the December event are selected, practical, unique, rich, and attractive, carried out by cultural subjects. Besides creating a good impression on visitors, the activities also have the role of promoting and honoring cultural values, including regional culinary specialties .
It is expected that the activities will have more than 100 people from 16 ethnic groups (Nung, Tay, Dao, Mong, Muong, Lao, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Co Tu, Raglai, E De, Khmer) with the participation of 11 localities where people have daily activities (Thai Nguyen, Hanoi , Phu Tho, Son La, Tuyen Quang, Hue, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Can Tho).

In addition, the organizers also mobilized the Co Tu people from Da Nang, the Kho Mu people and the Mong people from Son La to participate. The highlight activity is to introduce the cultural colors of the Co Tu people at the "Common House", including reenacting the Twinning Ceremony (Pơ ngooch) on December 7.
On the same day, December 7, the "Echo of the Great Forest" exchange program will take place with cultural and artistic exchange activities including folk performances, introduction of folk songs, musical instrument performances... introducing the heritage dance Tang tung da da (Dance of Offering to Heaven) of the Co Tu people; exchanges between ethnic groups of Xo Dang, Co Tu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Gia Rai who are active daily in the Village.
On December 6-7, visitors will be introduced to the cuisine and experience the traditional cultural space of the Co Tu people. The exchange program "Wild Sunflowers" of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands will take place on December 13-14 and December 20-1.
An attractive activity for tourists at the Village is the program introducing the year-end reunion meal on December 28. Accordingly, each village operating in the Village will introduce the typical dishes of its ethnic group during the holidays and Tet. The group of ethnic people operating daily introduces 16 dishes, expressing the beauty of traditional culinary culture and wishes for a prosperous new year.

Notably, the wedding ceremony of the Central Highlands ethnic people will be recreated on January 1, 2026 with many rituals such as engagement, wedding ceremony with traditional gifts (bronze bracelets, rice wine)...
On the occasion of the New Year, the reenactment of the Harvest Prayer Ceremony of the Kho Mu ethnic group (Huoi Mot commune, Son La province) will take place on January 3, 2026, with a performance of the process of cooking five-color sticky rice and decorating sticky rice trays by ethnic groups in the North.
The highlight activity at the end of the year at the Village will recreate the space of "Highland Market - Welcome New Year 2026" every day from January 1-4, 2026 with a combination of market atmosphere, folk songs, folk dances, folk games (bamboo jumping, throwing con...), ethnic cuisine, local products, traditional crafts. In particular, groups of highland people will introduce and perform unique traditional crafts, such as the brocade colors of weaving, scarf embroidery, knitting...
Coming to the Village on this occasion, visitors can also experience activities such as Then singing, Tinh lute of the Tay and Nung people; Mong panpipe dance, Muong gong performance, Lam Toi dance, Au Eo dance, Thai xoe heritage, folk games (pao throwing, stilt walking); traditional musical instrument performances, folk songs and dances, teaching musical instruments, folk games; Ro bam and Rom vong art performances of the Khmer people...
In recent times, a series of rich and unique activities organized at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism has been promoting the strengths of cultural entities, creating attractive destinations for tourists, and gradually perfecting attractive tourism products at the Village./.
