The program applies discounts from 20% to 30% on many specialty fruits, such as: Ri6 durian, plum, melon, cat chu mango, avocado, passion fruit... to stimulate domestic consumption, contributing to helping farmers consume agricultural products.

Along with that, the supermarket also introduces to the people of the capital and tourists a series of dishes made from Vietnamese fruits, such as: Lychee tea, shrimp and meat mango salad, passion fruit mousse..., to enhance the value of fruits.

Nguyen Bich Van, Director of Communications of Central Retail Vietnam Group, said that Central Retail Vietnam is actively implementing the strategy "Contributing to the prosperity of Vietnam - Better for Vietnam", in which agriculture , agricultural products and farmers are always important priorities.

At this time, many Vietnamese specialty fruits are in peak harvest season, however, prices are showing signs of fluctuation, especially in the context of difficult export markets. For example, durian has recently shown a sharp downward trend, with the purchase price at the garden being only under 50,000 VND/kg.

“In order to support domestic fruit consumption, Central Retail plans to purchase a total volume of Vietnamese fruit that will increase by 15-20% compared to last year, demonstrating a strong commitment to expanding output support for Vietnamese agricultural products, thereby increasing farmers’ income and stabilizing the domestic supply chain,” Ms. Nguyen Bich Van shared.

In particular, at the end of May, Central Retail will coordinate with Tien Giang province and localities across the country to organize the "Vietnam Fruit Festival" - the system's biggest fruit promotion event of the year, associated with the Doan Ngo Festival - the 5th day of the 5th lunar month.

This event not only provides an opportunity for consumers to access and enjoy specialty fruits from many different regions, but is also an effort by Central Retail as a retailer to widely promote and connect consumers with Vietnamese agricultural products, contributing to building the Vietnamese fruit brand together.

In addition, Central Retail will continue to export lychees to Thailand, gradually affirming the brand value of Vietnamese lychees in the international market.
