Discussing solutions for stable and safe power supply for Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project

On May 29, at the Lao Cai PC headquarters, an interdisciplinary meeting between relevant parties took place to agree on the content of coordination in providing electricity for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.

According to the Railway Project Management Board - Ministry of Construction , the section passing through Lao Cai province is 64.78 km long, passing through Lao Cai city and Bao Thang, Bao Yen, and Van Ban districts.

The project will build 8 main stations using 110/25kV power supply with each station's capacity from 2x16MVA to 2x25MVA; about 32 power stations supplying technical stations; nearly 50 technical tunnel doors using medium voltage electricity.

With the above electricity demand, PC Lao Cai has proactively coordinated with the Railway Project Management Board, the Northern Power Service Company and the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Construction to conduct a survey of the current status, determine the location of the works that need to be handled, the capacity demand and the appropriate connection plan for each transformer station.

At the meeting, the leaders of Lao Cai PC proposed that the Railway Project Management Board - Ministry of Construction promptly provide full information on the locations of transformer stations according to voltage levels, capacity needs, and time of operation; and carry out connection registration procedures according to regulations. On that basis, the electricity industry will proactively develop investment plans, arrange land funds, and standardize designs according to schedule. Lao Cai PC requested the investor's representative to provide detailed information on some contents related to project site clearance, and at the same time. Lao Cai PC committed to performing related tasks to ensure progress, meet technical, safety, and efficiency criteria.

Speaking at the meeting, the representative of the Railway Project Management Board - Ministry of Construction highly appreciated the proactive coordination spirit of PC Lao Cai, and at the same time requested the unit to continue to closely coordinate with relevant parties to review and update the construction works in the area to integrate into the general plan, ensuring the progress, quality and efficiency of the project investment. The Railway Project Management Board committed to promptly providing information according to the roadmap, serving the preparation of synchronous investment dossiers between the electricity industry and relevant parties.

The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway plays a particularly important role in promoting socio -economic development and ensuring national defense and security. Faced with the urgent requirements for project progress, PC Lao Cai has proactively coordinated with relevant agencies and units to discuss and implement solutions to ensure stable, safe and effective power supply for the construction and operation of this modern railway.
