Portrait of the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aviation Insurance (AIC)

(NADS) - Aviation Insurance Corporation (UPCoM: AIC) has officially appointed Mr. Le Tuan Dung as Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) for the 2023-2028 term, replacing Ms. Le Thi Ha Thanh. This decision has been approved and announced by the Ministry of Finance, marking a new development stage for the company.

Mr. Le Tuan Dung, born in 1974, holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Insurance from the National Economics University. Mr. Dung has extensive experience in the insurance industry, having held many important positions at large companies such as Post and Telecommunications Insurance, Military Insurance, Vietinbank Insurance and BSH Insurance. Under his leadership, Aviation Insurance is expected to go further in consolidating and expanding its market share.

At the end of January 2024, DB Insurance (DBI), one of the leading insurance companies in Korea, completed the acquisition of 75% of shares in Aviation Insurance, officially becoming the largest shareholder. This event brought many changes to the company's management structure. In early April 2024, a series of senior personnel including former Chairwoman of the Board of Directors Le Thi Ha Thanh and other members of the Board of Directors resigned, creating opportunities for new faces such as Mr. Le Tuan Dung to take over.

At the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM), the company approved an ambitious business plan with a total target revenue of VND2,924.5 billion and an expected after-tax profit of VND32.24 billion. The non-life insurance market is forecast to grow by about 12% this year, although there are still many challenges. Therefore, the company will continue to prioritize prudent, safe and effective risk management.

The leadership change and new business plan have received positive support from the market. Aviation Insurance AIC shares increased by 1.65% to VND12,300/share in the trading session on May 27, with a trading volume of 800 units.

With extensive experience and strategic vision, Mr. Le Tuan Dung is expected to lead Aviation Insurance to new steps forward, enhancing its position in the Top 10 largest non-life insurance companies in Vietnam.
