ChatGPT is not designed as a separate search product, but is integrated directly into the existing ChatGPT interface. Therefore, users can manually enable online search when needed or allow the AI ​​chatbot to automatically decide when to activate this feature.

Adam Fry, the lead researcher for ChatGPT, tested the feature during a pre-launch presentation by searching for Apple's stock price and related information. Immediately, the chatbot returned an interactive stock chart along with the latest news from various sources.

According to OpenAI, the search feature will be available on all ChatGPT platforms, including iOS, Android, and the desktop application.

Before integrating this feature, ChatGPT's knowledge base was limited to data from 2021 or 2023, depending on the version. With Microsoft's Bing-based search technology, ChatGPT users can receive instant answers and direct links to reliable sources.

OpenAI spokesperson Niko Felix stated that the company will continue to update training data for its AI models to ensure users always have the most up-to-date information. However, this data is not used to train OpenAI's models simultaneously.

OpenAI collaborates with major content partners such as Associated Press, Reuters, Times, News Corp, etc., to ensure that ChatGPT provides vetted and reliable information. Adam Fry, head of search at ChatGPT, said that ChatGPT currently has no ads, which is a plus point for ChatGPT compared to Google.
