Big fire in Hung Yen, at least 4 people died

Hung Yen police confirmed that at least 4 people died and 3 were injured in a fire at a scrap recycling factory.

Confirming with VietNamNet reporters this evening (June 28), the leader of Hung Yen Provincial Police said that they are trying to control a large fire that broke out at a scrap recycling factory in Minh Hai Commune, Van Lam District.

Authorities found four bodies in the fire, three others were rescued and taken to a medical facility for emergency treatment.

At around 1:30 pm this afternoon, a major fire broke out at a scrap recycling plant. At the time of the fire, many workers were working at the plant and were trapped inside.

Authorities have deployed many high-pressure water jets to the fire. However, because the factory contains many flammable materials such as plastic, fabric, wood, etc., the fire is facing many difficulties.

The factory on fire is located in the middle of a field, far from residential areas; there is a plywood factory nearby. Currently, the authorities have moved flammable items to a safe place to prevent the fire from spreading.

The factory burned down, covering thousands of square meters, was built with an iron frame and a corrugated iron roof. Many areas were destroyed by the fire.
