'Chelsea unlikely to win Premier League 2025/26'

Jamie Carragher has underestimated Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title next season despite the club spending £250 million on the transfer market and just winning the FIFA Club World Cup.

Chelsea, after winning the FIFA Club World Cup, are still skeptical about stability.

The former Liverpool player expressed doubts about the direction of Chelsea under the management of owner Todd Boehly and coach Enzo Maresca: "Chelsea won the Club World Cup. However, I am not sure this will bring the club closer to the Premier League title. Chelsea's transactions in the past few years have made it feel like there have been a lot of players coming and going, but no one has really improved the team."

English football experts believe that Chelsea's excessive trading has made their squad unstable. This summer, "The Blues" welcomed 8 new players with a total cost of about 250 million pounds, but in the opposite direction, they also said goodbye to 5 players.

"No Premier League champions have sold and bought players as often as Chelsea," Carragher stressed. "If I remember correctly, they must have sold at least 20-30 players in the last three years."

Chelsea have seen a major shake-up in their squad this summer, with Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall leaving Stamford Bridge in deals worth a combined total of over £150m.

Meanwhile, they welcomed new players including Joao Pedro (£60m), Liam Delap (£30m), Jorrel Hato (£37m), Estevao Willian (£28m), Dário Essugo (£18.5m) and Mamadou Sarr (£12m).

Chelsea will kick off the 2025/26 Premier League campaign with a London derby against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on August 17. Liverpool are currently rated the highest by experts and bookmakers, with a probability of winning the 2025/26 Premier League title of up to 42%, far ahead of Manchester City (14%), Chelsea (13%) or Arsenal (13%).
