Although GM has not announced any details about the successor model, the company confirmed that this is not the end for this
sports car as the legendary Chevrolet Camaro name will still be used in the future in another powertrain, expected to be electrified in the form of a plug-in hybrid or pure electric.
This information has made the American muscle car community feel regretful. The 6th generation of Camaro has gone through many years with quite impressive sales, however, it has not achieved the outstanding performance of the 5th generation. In 2022, sales of the 6th generation Camaro only reached 24,652 units.
To honor the model's legacy, Chevrolet will offer a Collector's Edition package before bidding farewell to the sixth-generation Camaro. However, details about the package have not been revealed yet, only a single photo reveals a new version of the Camaro with similarities to the model's development history. The Collector's Edition package will be equipped on RS and SS models, along with a limited number of ZL1 variants. With the Camaro dead and the Dodge Challenger coming to the end of production after 2023, the Ford Mustang is the only muscle car left on the US market.
