Not only ordinary individual investors, but also many leaders and people related to business and bank leaders also suffered losses after buying highland stocks.

Like Ms. Bui Cam Thi, daughter of Mr. Bui Hai Quan - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank - VPBank (VPB) recently completed the purchase of 20 million VPB shares on August 27.

In the session on August 27, VPB's closing price was 33,300 VND/unit. It is estimated that Ms. Thi may have spent more than 660 billion VND to carry out the transaction.

However, since then, VPB's price has decreased by about 13%, to 29,800 VND this morning (September 24), which means that the daughter of VPBank's leader may be temporarily in the red about 70 billion VND.

At the same time, another daughter of Mr. Bui Hai Quan, Ms. Bui Hai Ngan, also successfully bought 20 million shares.

Ms. Ngan's transaction took place by order matching and negotiation on August 26. It is estimated that holding VPB at a high price range may cause Ms. Ngan to temporarily lose more than 10%.

In addition to the vice chairman's two children, Ms. Pham Thi Nhung - a member of VPBank's board of directors - also bought 10 million VPB shares between September 4 and 5.

It is estimated that with the market price on September 4, Ms. Nhung may have spent 349 billion VND to increase her ownership ratio at VPBank. This means that this transaction may have caused Ms. Nhung to temporarily lose more than 13%, equivalent to more than 50 billion VND.

Benefiting from the general industry wave and having internal supportive information, VPB stock has increased strongly recently. From the beginning of May to the beginning of September this year, this code has increased by nearly 120%, bringing the market price to the peak.

Recently, VPB and many other bank stocks have been under continuous pressure to adjust. Their market prices have fallen sharply from their peak, causing many investors to lose their accounts.

Like HDBank 's HDB, it has also decreased by nearly 12% in the past month after reaching a new peak in August, at VND28,700/share.

Eximbank's EIB or TPBank 's TPB are not doing any better, both down nearly 13% in the past month.

Regarding the market in general, after reaching a peak of 1,700 points, VN-Index has been under great correction pressure in many sessions. In this morning's session, the index representing the stock market lost 13 points at one point, falling to the 1,622 point area.
