Recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent an official dispatch to the Minister of Finance directing the Vietnam Social Security to pay pensions and social insurance benefits for May 2025 earlier than usual. This decision was made ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and International Labor Day (May 1), not only creating favorable conditions for people to celebrate the country's important events but also demonstrating the deep concern of the Government and the Prime Minister for social security work, especially taking care of the material and spiritual life of generations of revolutionary veterans, war invalids, sick soldiers, and people with revolutionary contributions who are receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits.

More than 3.3 million policy beneficiaries nationwide will receive their monthly pensions and social insurance benefits for the May 2025 payment period earlier than usual. This decision demonstrates the deep, timely, and meaningful concern of the Government and the Prime Minister, along with the proactive and active direction of the Ministry of Finance and the efforts of the Vietnam Social Security in the context of streamlining and restructuring the apparatus to increasingly better ensure the rights of participants and beneficiaries of social insurance policies, meeting the wishes and aspirations of the people.
This is also an action of great humanitarian significance, expressing deep gratitude for the great contributions of those who have contributed to the revolution in the cause of national liberation and national construction and defense, in addition to many other meaningful policies and activities implemented by the Government on this important occasion. The early payment of pensions and social insurance benefits is a practical and meaningful action on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day.
Realizing that meaning, immediately after the Prime Minister's dispatch, the close and timely direction of the Ministry of Finance, Vietnam Social Security urgently focused resources to be ready to deploy the payment of monthly pensions and social insurance benefits for the May 2025 period from April 25 to 28, 2025, ensuring full, timely, in accordance with regulations, and to the right beneficiaries.
Specifically, for cash payments, the Social Insurance of provinces and regions will coordinate with the post office to review the payment schedule, ensure completion within the prescribed time and timely transfer of funds before April 24, 2025. For payments via personal accounts, the establishment and approval of electronic payment orders will also be completed no later than April 24, 2025, with specific payment times for each region. Vietnam Social Insurance will also strengthen the inspection and supervision of the payment process, promptly handling arising situations. The entire Vietnam Social Insurance system is determined to do well in this payment, striving to complete it before the required time, especially for beneficiaries via personal accounts.
In recent times, with the consistent viewpoint of "taking people and businesses as the center and the subject of service", in the context of arranging and streamlining the organizational apparatus according to the policy of the Politburo, with the close attention and direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Finance, Vietnam Social Security has soon stabilized the organization, promptly completed the processes and regulations to ensure the implementation of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance policies and regimes takes place continuously, ensuring maximum benefits for participants and beneficiaries.
