Ninh Kieu Efforts to mobilize resources to care for and help victims of Agent Orange

During the past half term, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Ninh Kieu district focused on consolidating and perfecting the organization of the Association, especially in 2024, Ninh Kieu district arranged the administrative units of 4 wards into 1 Thoi Binh ward; organized extensive propaganda of Directive 43-CT/TW of the Secretariat of the 11th Party Central Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in dealing with the consequences of toxic chemicals used by the US during the war in Vietnam; mobilized resources to care for and help Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin...

Mr. Pham Phuoc Loi, Vice President of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Can Tho City, awarded a plaque of commendation to outstanding individuals in Ninh Kieu district with achievements in the emulation movement "For Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin" in the period 2021-2025.

In the period of 2021-2025, implementing the emulation movement "For Agent Orange Victims", the Association annually develops a plan, emulation scale and organizes the launching of emulation movements associated with the signing of emulation agreements between grassroots Associations; regularly inspects and supervises the review and completion of records of resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals and their affected children and grandchildren to resolve the regime for people with meritorious services and supervises the implementation of the State's policy payments to victims, preventing loss and negativity. At the same time, coordinate to build and repair 6 houses; subsidize 60 red addresses, award 53 scholarships; support 120 families to borrow low-interest loans from the Women's and Veterans Associations; Actively mobilized socialization of gifts and goods worth over 3 billion VND, organized meetings, visited and gave 7,233 gifts on the occasion of holidays, Tet and Day for Agent Orange Victims 10-8. Especially in 2024, the Association built 3 models of "Community care for Agent Orange Victims" at the grassroots associations of An Cu, Hung Loi, Xuan Khanh wards...

Continuing to implement the emulation movement "For AO victims" in the period of 2026-2030, the Association of AO victims/dioxin in Ninh Kieu district continues to advise on the deployment and effective implementation of Directive No. 43-CT/TW of the Secretariat, policies and guidelines of the Party, State, city and district, creating positive changes in responsibility for the care of AO victims; strengthening coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations to promote propaganda on the rights of AO victims in accordance with the Party's policies and the State's laws, closely linking the Association's emulation movement with the campaign "Studying and following the ideology, morality and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh"; coordinating to review and count resistance fighters, their children and grandchildren infected with toxic chemicals to propose to enjoy policies and regimes according to regulations. Continue to replicate community models of caring for NNÐDC, promptly reward and encourage the emulation movement "For NNÐDC".

On this occasion, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Can Tho City honored 10 individuals who are exemplary victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and caregivers of AO/Dioxin victims in the emulation movement "For Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin" for the period 2021-2025.
