According to the report, Soc Trang has 11 administrative units (8 districts, 2 towns, 1 city) with 109 communes, wards, towns and 775 hamlets and villages. The population is 1,195,741 people, of which ethnic minorities are 423,830 people, accounting for 35.44% of the population, the Khmer ethnic group accounts for 30.19%; the Chinese ethnic group accounts for 5.22%; the remaining 25 ethnic groups. Currently, the whole province has 63 communes, wards, and towns in ethnic minority areas.
With the drastic and close direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee for National Target Programs, the provincial departments, branches and organizations have focused on thoroughly grasping and implementing the guiding documents issued by the Central Government to ensure timeliness. The province has issued a complete system of documents directing and implementing the program. After 3 years of implementing the program, up to now, 15/24 goals and 16/40 specific targets have been achieved and exceeded compared to the Medium-term Plan for the period 2021 - 2025, the remaining targets strive to ensure implementation on the annual roadmap and are expected to achieve the targets according to the set plan by 2025. In Soc Trang province, the total capital to implement the 3 national target programs in 2024 is more than 900 billion VND; Disbursement results in the first 7 months of 2024 were more than 280 billion VND, reaching 30.5% of the plan.
Representatives of the working delegation of Quang Nam province gave an overview of the implementation of national target programs in Quang Nam province.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province and Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province said that the meeting was very meaningful and practical. The leaders of the two provinces suggested that the departments and branches of the two provinces strengthen their connection to share experiences in organizing and implementing national target programs to achieve good results.
