At a healthy age, Mr. Than was diagnosed with meningitis and pulmonary tuberculosis. As the youngest of four siblings and unmarried, Mr. Than lived with his parents. In 2024, Mr. Than's father died of pulmonary tuberculosis, leaving only his mother and son living together in a 50m2 charity house that was severely degraded. When he was still healthy, Mr. Than worked as a hired hand to support the two of them. In recent months, he has been seriously ill and unable to work, so he and his mother have had to rely on the support of relatives.

Seeing that Mr. Than’s family was in particularly difficult circumstances, the “Sharing the Pain” program connected clubs, teams, volunteer groups and benefactors to donate 124.2 million VND to the family. After discussing with the family and local authorities, the program’s organizers agreed to allocate 14.2 million VND for Mr. Than to go for a follow-up examination; the remaining 110 million VND was saved for long-term treatment.
Clubs, teams, volunteer groups in the province, along with benefactors, associations, and unions in the province and locality, give money to support the family.
Taking care of and accompanying Mr. Than during his medical visits, Ms. Nieng Thi So Cum - Mr. Than's sister emotionally said: I am very happy that you, the benefactors, have helped my brother. This money will help my brother continue to receive treatment to get well soon. Thank you very much!

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Association for the Support of the Disabled - Orphans and Poor Patients presented more than 25 million VND in donations and presented symbolic plaques from volunteer teams and groups to the family.
Chairwoman of the Association for the Support of the Disabled - Orphans and Poor Patients of the province Nguyen Thi Lien presented milk from TANACO Vietnam Joint Stock Company to the family. Every month, the company will send 2 boxes of milk to disadvantaged patients in the province.
