(HNMO) - Mercedes-Benz G-Class, a legendary model in the global automobile industry, has just experienced a memorable milestone, when it produced its 500,000th car after 44 years of existence.
Dubbed “ the world’s best off-road machine” since 1979, the G-Class has long been an icon in the automotive industry. Uniquely, over the past 44 years, the car has remained virtually unchanged in appearance and style.
According to the German carmaker, the 500,000th G-Class rolled off the production line in Graz, Austria. The special anniversary edition recalls the origins of the off-road icon: the one-of-a-kind 280 GE from the 1986 production year.
The model Mercedes-Benz introduced to celebrate its production anniversary is a perfect one-off. The “G” on the 500,000th car is inspired by the G-Class from the early years. It has some of the most distinctive design features of its historic predecessor, which has long been considered a classic.
The historic paintwork is Agave Green, one of the first for the G-Class. The historic spare wheel cover with the Mercedes star, which is significantly larger than on today’s models. The interior of the 500,000th car also takes inspiration from the 280 GE. For example, the center section of the seats is covered in a period-specific checkered fabric, while the passenger-side grab handle also features the lettering “No. 500,000” in Agave Green.
In Vietnam, the G-Class in general and the G63 AMG in particular are also models that receive public attention, associated with many famous people in different fields.
