A few weeks ago, Ronaldo aroused curiosity when he posted a meaningful status on social media with the content: "This chapter is closed. The story will continue."
Many people speculate that the Portuguese star has said goodbye to Al-Nassr Club (Saudi Arabia). And there are more rumors that Ronaldo is negotiating to join one of the 32 teams participating in the FIFA Club World Cup to have the opportunity to play in this tournament.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino also added to the story by confirming that there are talks between Ronaldo and other teams.
But in the end, no "blockbuster" happened. Sharing with the press on June 7, Ronaldo himself confirmed that he will not attend the tournament taking place in the US this summer.
"I will not be at the Club World Cup. There have been some approaches from clubs, there have been some negotiations, discussions about contracts. Some of them are reasonable, some are not, you cannot test all of them," said the 40-year-old star.
With Ronaldo having no new destination, it is likely that he will renew his contract with Al-Nassr. Joining this team in early 2023 with a salary of up to 200 million euros/season, he has so far scored 99 goals in 111 appearances. The contract is about to expire in June this year.
Currently, Ronaldo is with the Portuguese team preparing for the UEFA Nations League final against Spain at 2:00 a.m. on June 9 (Vietnam time).
