BHG - On the morning of June 8, in Viet Quang town (Bac Quang), the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations in coordination with local authorities organized a ceremony to award the UNESCO Certificate to the Tam Tai family of Traditional Medicine Practitioners - the Nguyen family, which has been dedicated to preserving and promoting the quintessence of Ngan ethnic medicine for four generations. Attending the ceremony were representatives of a number of provincial departments and branches, leaders of Bac Quang district, along with many people, doctors and researchers interested in traditional medicine.

The Tam Tai family - the 4th generation representative is Doctor Nguyen Thi Thai, currently living in Minh Tien village (Quang Minh commune), has long been a bright spot in preserving and developing valuable traditional Vietnamese medicine. With the passion to preserve traditional knowledge, the family has established the Nguyen Thi Thai Medicinal Herbs Production and Processing Cooperative. Currently, the Cooperative has over 5 hectares of medicinal herbs. Not only stopping at preservation, the family also actively researches and applies traditional Vietnamese medicine to treat diseases, especially difficult diseases such as infertility, detoxification, tumor dissolving, gynecological infections... Some of the medicines have been tested by specialized agencies, granted certificates of traditional medicine and brought high treatment efficiency, contributing positively to community health care, especially in remote areas, where access to modern medicine is limited.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations Nguyen Xuan Thiet and President of the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association Nguyen Thi Duc expressed their respect and recognition for the persistent, silent but extremely valuable contributions of the Tam Tai family. The fact that UNESCO awarded the Certificate this time not only affirms the value of traditional medicine but also honors the folk knowledge treasure - an intangible cultural heritage of global significance. This is the pride not only of the Tam Tai family but also of the province and the Vietnamese traditional medicine community.
The leaders of the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations and the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association hope that the Tam Tai Family of Traditional Medicine will continue to preserve, promote and modernize the quintessence of traditional medicine, combining it smoothly with the achievements of modern medicine, to better serve the work of community health care.
