Despite being accepted into two universities, due to difficult family circumstances and his love for pets, Mr. Nguyen Van Ben (Duyen Hai Ward, Lao Cai City) chose to study veterinary healthcare at Lao Cai College. Currently, he owns two reputable pet care and pet food and accessory supply businesses in the city, earning an average income of 30 million VND per month. He also supports and creates jobs for many veterinary students after they graduate.

At every recruitment and career guidance event, Mr. Ben is invited to participate by Lao Cai College, becoming an inspiring figure. His story of successful entrepreneurship, stemming from choosing the right profession and resolutely pursuing his passion, has motivated many students and trainees at Lao Cai College to focus on their studies, hone their skills, and confidently embark on their entrepreneurial journey.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ben shared: "My wish is to continue improving the facilities and equipment and create more job opportunities for students after graduation to work with me."

Having achieved excellent grades for three years at Lao Cai Specialized High School, including national-level awards for academic excellence and direct admission to the National Economics University and Hanoi University of Commerce, Ma Thi Quynh Nga surprisingly decided to apply to Lao Cai College instead, much to the surprise of her friends and neighbors. Before receiving her high school graduation exam results, Quynh Nga spent time researching universities and colleges and the job opportunities after graduation for various fields of study. After researching and receiving advice from her family, Ma Thi Quynh Nga chose to study at the Faculty of Pharmacy (Lao Cai College).

“The college-level pharmacy program only takes 3 years, and tuition fees are reduced by 50%. The school also collaborates with many companies and businesses to give students opportunities to study and work after graduation, so I decided to study pharmacy at Lao Cai College,” Quynh Nga confided.
Similarly to Quynh Nga, Trieu Ong Nhat (from Van Ban district), who had a good academic record in high school, also shared that it didn't take him long to decide to pursue a career in automotive technology, as it was a field he had long been passionate about. Thanks to his determination and diligent studies, after completing his training at the Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center of Van Ban district, Trieu Ong Nhat is now a technical employee at NISSAN Vinh Phuc Company, earning 12 million VND per month.

Trieu Ong Nhat shared: "I did a lot of research and thought carefully, and I found that many people who didn't go to university still achieved success if they worked hard. In fact, after graduating from a college with a degree in automotive technology, I easily found a job with a decent income."

In reality, with proper, professional training tailored to the needs of businesses, graduates from vocational colleges and schools have significant job opportunities and a high chance of success. Therefore, vocational education institutions in the province have actively promoted and encouraged people to understand the benefits of vocational training, strengthening cooperation with businesses to secure employment for students. Many students have even earned income during internships, thus building confidence among families and students when choosing vocational education.
Mr. Dinh Van Tho, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, stated that today, vocational skills are considered a crucial requirement of the labor market, thus there has been a significant shift in social awareness regarding the importance and value of labor skills. This shows that university is not the only path for learners to develop themselves. Improving the skills of workers also leads to a better quality of the workforce, meeting the needs of the economy in the trend of international integration.
