Model Thai Thien Phuong's husband strongly denies money laundering allegations

Chris affirmed that Paomes - the animal welfare organization that he and some friends founded with the female model - is not intended to launder money.

"The four of us set up the fund with the passion to help and take care of abandoned dogs and cats, for no other purpose. Unfortunately, my wife passed away, I not only suffered the pain of losing my partner but also faced scrutiny, criticism, and defamation on social networks... This made us helpless and disappointed, leading to the charity reaching a dead end," said Chris.

According to Chris, the Paomes charity was registered in October 2022, opened a bank account in January 2023, and received $255 in donations. However, the charity’s bank statements from February show a zero balance on January 13 and $268 on February 13.

“To clarify, we have never disbursed any money. Therefore, there is no case of money laundering or fraud here. Our family has donated money to a number of charities, but never to our own organization,” Chris asserted.

As for the co-founders of the Paomes organization, they also denied the false rumors.

In the latest development, Joey Wong – one of the four members of the organization said that Thai Thien Phuong’s husband is no longer working with the Paomes organization. The organization is currently run by Wong as a social enterprise providing animal welfare services. The decision was made after they were subjected to malicious rumors spreading on social media.

Previously, according to Sohu, after Thai Thien Phuong passed away, not only Chris but also his family took advantage of Thai Thien Phuong and her ex-husband's family to launder money.

On May 18, Chris also denied this rumor. "I am an introvert, rarely showing my emotions. Even though I am in pain, I do not show it in front of friends or the media. Therefore, my family is being slandered, I want to take this opportunity to apologize to my relatives and hope that the rumors will stop," Chris shared for the first time after his wife passed away.

The case of model Thai Thien Phuong murdered by her ex-husband's family in February 2023 shocked public opinion.

Thien Phuong went missing on February 21 and her body was found on February 24 at the apartment Kwong Kau rented in January.

To destroy the DNA and hinder the investigation into the victim's identity, the suspect dismembered and disposed of the body immediately after committing the crime.

Authorities are currently holding four people in connection with the case. After the trial on May 8, Anthony Kwong (31 years old, driver, brother of the victim's ex-husband), Alex Kwong (28 years old, unemployed and ex-husband of the victim), Kwong Kau (65 years old, retired police officer, ex-father of the victim) were charged with murder.

Jenny Li Sui-heung (63 years old, female, retired, former mother-in-law of the victim) was charged with obstruction of justice. She deleted text messages and audio files of conversations to conceal the crimes of her husband and children.

Two others, Lin (41 years old) and Pun (29 years old), accused of helping Alex Kwong escape, were released on bail.

The funeral of model Thai Thien Phuong is scheduled to take place at the Po Fook Memorial Hall in Tai Wai (Hong Kong, China) on June 18. The funeral will be held privately with tight security.

Currently, although not all of Thai Thien Phuong's body parts have been found, the investigation unit has completed the procedures to return the late model's body parts to her family for preservation.
