According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Ty - Head of the District Department of Agriculture and Environment: In recent years, the District People's Committee has directed communes and towns to promote the restructuring of crops towards improving quality and efficiency associated with commodity production. At the same time, focusing on propaganda and mobilizing people, cooperatives, and businesses to invest in expanding production scale associated with good agricultural practices.
Based on reviewing and evaluating the potential and advantages of each product, the Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinates to advise, support and guide the subjects to prepare documents to participate in the evaluation and classification of OCOP products. In particular, focusing on supporting the planning of concentrated commodity production development, implementing policies to support product development, perfecting product designs and packaging, printing OCOP certification stamps for the subjects; building a production and consumption linkage chain, creating favorable conditions for the formation of OCOP products.
Along with that, promote trade and promote OCOP products through fairs and exhibitions; actively introduce on social networking sites and e-commerce platforms to expand the market for OCOP products...
Thanks to that, many typical products of the district have gradually developed strongly in quantity and quality, contributing to increasing the value of agricultural products, creating jobs, and increasing income for people. Up to now, the whole district has built 14 products meeting 3-star OCOP standards, 1 product reaching 4 stars.
Previously, the bird's nest products of Mrs. Mai Thi Kim Tinh's family (group 3, Chu Se town) were sold in the traditional way, mainly to acquaintances. Since being oriented and supported by the local government to develop into OCOP products, Man Thy bird's nest products have become known to many people, and the consumption market has expanded.
Ms. Tinh said: The family was supported by the Department of Agriculture and Environment, guiding them to complete the documents and procedures for participating in the evaluation and classification of OCOP products as well as perfecting the design and packaging of the products. In particular, the district also created favorable conditions for the family's OCOP products to participate in promotion and advertising at fairs and exhibitions in and outside the province. Thanks to that, bird's nest products are known to consumers nationwide and are present in most major provinces and cities across the country.
“The family’s production facility operates continuously, creating regular jobs for 3-4 local workers with an average income of over 10 million VND/month. In the coming time, besides focusing on perfecting and upgrading current OCOP products, I will also invest in expanding the production scale and participating in evaluating and classifying other products,” Ms. Tinh added.
Although the Sophora japonica tea product of Dao Tien Phat Farm Company Limited (Group 8, Chu Se Town) has just been recognized as achieving 3-star OCOP in 2024, it also shows positive signs.
Mr. Dao Tien Tinh - Sales Director of the Company - said: With a raw material area of over 30 hectares, the Company has favorable conditions to develop medicinal products from Sophora japonica flowers. This product is also being positively received by consumers. Therefore, we focus on investing in preliminary processing and processing machinery as well as participating in the OCOP Program to enhance the brand and production value.

“After being recognized as a 3-star OCOP product at the end of 2024, our Sophora japonica tea products have been well received by the market. In addition to linking and consuming products with distributors in the Northern and Central provinces and cities, each month, the unit consumes over 1,000 boxes of Sophora japonica tea through e-commerce platforms.
In the coming time, we will continue to develop new products to increase production value, create more jobs and income for local workers," Mr. Tinh emphasized.
The Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Chu Se district added: “The implementation of the OCOP Program has contributed to restructuring the agricultural sector, increasing product value, increasing income as well as contributing to the National Target Program on new rural construction in the locality.
In the coming time, the district will focus on directing the development of cooperatives, small and medium enterprises, and individual business households to produce unique products with advantages and competitiveness in the market.
At the same time, support cooperatives, production and business households to improve management capacity and product development to participate in the OCOP Program. Thereby, promoting economic restructuring, improving income and living standards for people, promoting local socio-economic development.
