Ms. Tran Thi Tam - Director of An Nhien Agricultural and Service Cooperative (Kong Chro district) said: The cooperative operates in the field of safe vegetable, fruit and food processing. Due to lack of capital for investment in production, it has encountered many difficulties in production and business activities.
Recently, with a preferential loan of 200 million VND from the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund, we have purchased machinery and supported members in investing in production development. Currently, the Cooperative has cooperated with 45 households growing safe vegetables, tubers and fruits; each day supplying the market with 1.5-2 tons of vegetables, tubers and fruits.
Thanks to this loan, the cooperative invests in the production of a variety of vegetables, tubers, and fruits according to market demand, and makes it convenient to pay for products for members.

The province currently has 475 cooperatives, 2 cooperative unions and 485 cooperative groups operating in many different economic sectors. In recent years, many cooperatives have encountered difficulties in production and business activities. Among them, lack of capital for investment in production and business is one of the main obstacles. The reason is that cooperatives cannot access preferential loans from the State.
Faced with that reality, in April 2024, the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund came into operation with a charter capital of 20 billion VND from the provincial budget. The purpose of the Fund is to create conditions for cooperatives, cooperative unions, cooperative groups and members to access preferential loans with an interest rate of 4.6%/year to improve production and business capacity.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Duy - Director of Phuong Hoang Construction - Trade - Service Cooperative (Duc Co district) said: The cooperative was established in 2018, operating in many industries. In particular, growing and processing coffee and cashew nuts are the strengths in production and business. Currently, the cooperative has linked with more than 500 households growing coffee and cashew nuts in some communes and towns of the district. However, due to limited investment capital, the process of purchasing, investing in drying yards, factories, and deep processing machines is still facing difficulties.
“In 2024, we received a loan of 1 billion VND from the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund at a preferential interest rate from the State through the form of asset mortgage. Thanks to this capital, the Cooperative invested in building infrastructure, drying yards, and deep processing machinery for the 2024-2025 coffee crop, helping the Cooperative's coffee products to be consumed stably in the market. Currently, the Cooperative continues to invest in a drying yard system, greenhouses, and a system of equipment and deep processing machinery to serve production and business in the next coffee crop,” said Mr. Duy.
After 1 year of operation, the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund has disbursed 5 billion VND in preferential loans to 4 cooperatives. Of which, in 2024, Chu A Thai Agricultural Cooperative (Phu Thien district) borrowed 800 million VND; Phuong Hoang Construction-Trade and Service Cooperative borrowed 1 billion VND. In early 2025, An Nhien Agricultural and Service Cooperative and Phuong Di Bee Honey Cooperative (Pleiku city) borrowed a total of 3.2 billion VND for production and business.

Speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Mau Phong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union and Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund - informed: Since its inception, the Fund has focused on propagating, mobilizing, and guiding cooperatives, cooperative groups, cooperative unions and members in need of loans for production and business.
The Fund guides customers to access and use preferential loans from the State for the right purposes and with high efficiency. Currently, the demand for loans from customers who are individuals, cooperatives, cooperative unions and cooperative groups is high, but because the collateral for loans is low compared to the demand for loans, many cooperatives still cannot access this source of capital.
“In 2025, we plan to support cooperatives to borrow about 7 billion VND to develop production and business. Of which, short-term loans are 6 billion VND, medium and long-term loans are about 1 billion VND.
Along with that, regularly propagate, monitor, periodically inspect, and guide cooperatives and individuals to use loan capital for the right purposes, promote efficiency to increase income for members and rural people in the province" - Mr. Phong emphasized.
