The event, themed “Endless Vitality: UN Stamp Launch and Palace Museum Exhibition”, celebrates the cultural and historical value of the Forbidden City in Beijing, China.

At the event, the United Nations Postal Service introduced a newly issued stamp set, consisting of 10 stamps with floral designs, inspired by the massive collection of artifacts of the Palace Museum. Each flower - such as magnolia, peony, plum blossom or lotus... has a profound cultural meaning, honoring the beauty of diversity and endless vitality, true to the chosen theme.
The Beijing Palace Museum was founded on October 10, 1925. It displays nearly 700,000 Chinese artifacts and works of art, and is also one of the largest museums in the world .
The museum's collection includes artifacts spanning 8,000 years of Chinese history, from the Stone Age to the modern era. Most of the collection is high-quality works collected by Chinese emperors.
Last year, the United Nations also issued a special stamp set, including 10 stamps printed with dragons flying in the clouds, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024./.
