President Luong Cuong and Lao General Secretary and President attend the ceremony to present Lao medals to senior Vietnamese leaders

On the afternoon of April 29, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Lao Party and State solemnly held a ceremony to present the Medal of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to leaders and former senior leaders of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the occasion of the Lao high-ranking delegation visiting Vietnam to attend the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

President Luong Cuong and General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith attended the ceremony.

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh; leaders of central ministries and branches and Ho Chi Minh City, and a high-ranking delegation from the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

At the ceremony, Head of the Lao President's Office Khemmani Pholsena announced the Decree of the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic awarding the First Class Freedom Medal to Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and former Vice Presidents Nguyen Thi Binh, Truong My Hoa, Nguyen Thi Doan, and Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith awarded the First Class Freedom Medal to Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and former Vice Presidents.

On behalf of the comrades receiving noble awards at the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her emotion at receiving the First Class Freedom Medal - a noble award of the Lao Party and State, presented by General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith.

The Vice President affirmed that this is not only a great honor for each comrade personally, but also a vivid demonstration of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, which was directly established by the great President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and beloved President Souphanouvong; and has been diligently preserved and nurtured by generations of leaders of the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries over the past time.

The Vice President expressed his gratitude to the Lao Party, State and people for always standing shoulder to shoulder with Vietnam in the cause of fighting for national independence, protecting and building the country, as well as for recognizing and awarding the noble award today; as well as expressing his gratitude to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for training, fostering and creating conditions for comrades to participate in contributing to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland of Vietnam and contributing to building the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

The Vice President affirmed that this is a great encouragement and motivation for comrades to continuously strive to fulfill their tasks in different positions and continue to contribute more to the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

The Vice President firmly believes that, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, continuing the work of generations of leaders of the two Parties and two States, the cause of innovation, national construction and protection in Vietnam and Laos will continue to achieve new and even greater achievements.
