President To Lam visits former Lao senior leaders

According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the afternoon of July 11, within the framework of the State visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, President To Lam met and visited former General Secretary and President of Laos Choummaly Sayasone; former General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith and former Prime Minister of Laos Thongsing Thammavong.

President To Lam expressed his pleasure at meeting with his comrades and long-time close friends of the Party, State and people of Vietnam; and appreciated the valuable support and affection that former Lao high-ranking leaders have given to Vietnam as well as their great contributions to preserving and nurturing the loyal, steadfast, and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. On this occasion, the President conveyed the warm greetings of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to the former high-ranking leaders of Laos. The President expressed his belief that under the wise leadership of the Lao Party and People's Revolution, Laos will increasingly develop independently, autonomously, and prosperously, and the Lao people will increasingly be prosperous and happy; At the same time, he congratulated the achievements that the Lao Party, State and people have attained in recent years, including the important contributions of former senior Lao leaders.
