National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man successfully concludes visit to the Russian Federation

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly arrived at Noi Bai International Airport ( Hanoi ), successfully concluding their official visit to the Russian Federation.

According to VNA special correspondent, on the morning of September 11, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly arrived at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), successfully concluding an official visit to the Russian Federation and co-chairing the third meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, at the invitation of Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin and Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko.

During the visit, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and held talks with Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin and Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko.

At the meetings and talks, Russian leaders warmly welcomed National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on his first visit to the Russian Federation after being elected by the Vietnamese National Assembly to hold the position of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; expressing their belief that on the basis of this visit, high-level contacts between the two countries' National Assemblies will take place more frequently, creating a solid foundation and actively contributing to the development of the Russia-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Chairman VI Matvienko signed a cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Parliament; and witnessed the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and Rostov province.

Within the framework of the visit, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin chaired the 3rd meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

After the meeting, the two sides issued a joint statement, stating that they affirmed their readiness to cooperate in legislative work to ensure effective implementation of agreements between the two countries and their leaders to promote the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov; Chairman of the Just Russia-Patriots-For-Truth Party Sergey Mironov; received representatives of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Association of Russian Veterans who fought in Vietnam; and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Russia.

The National Assembly Chairman also received representatives of several large enterprises of the Russian Federation such as Gazprom Group; Novatek Group; received the Governor of Rostov province; received representatives of the Vietnam Business Association in Russia; and witnessed the handover ceremony of signed documents between several Vietnamese and Russian enterprises.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in Moscow and at the Unknown Soldier Monument on the Kremlin wall in Red Square.

With 30 high-level official activities and sideline activities, the visit was a great success, completing the set goals and requirements.

The visit continues to consolidate and enhance mutual understanding and political trust between the two countries; deepen and make more substantial the relationship between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of the Russian Federation, affirming that cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries is an important cooperation channel in the overall strategic foreign relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, especially the role of the Friendship Parliamentarians' Group of the two countries, the mechanism of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the State Duma of the Russian Federation./.
