National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue hopes the community will unite, persevere, and integrate well into Bangladeshi society.

On the evening of September 22, during his official visit to Bangladesh, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly visited the Vietnamese Embassy to meet with the Vietnamese community in Bangladesh.

After listening to Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong's report on the results of the Embassy's work and the situation of the Vietnamese community and listening to the community representative's speech, the National Assembly Chairman sent the best wishes to the Ambassador, officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy, ​​and the Vietnamese community in Bangladesh; stating that this visit was the first visit by the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly to Bangladesh, with special significance on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1973-2023).

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the two countries have similar historical features, especially in the struggle for national independence; and shared that during the visit, he had a very successful meeting with the Chairman of the Bangladeshi Parliament.

The leaders of the two legislative bodies signed the first cooperation agreement in the 50-year history of diplomatic relations. The two Secretaries General of the National Assembly signed the cooperation regulations. This is a great step forward in the relationship between the two National Assemblies, contributing to strengthening the cooperation between the two countries.

Reviewing the main results in promoting bilateral relations through talks and meetings with senior leaders of Bangladesh, attending events celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, policy and economic forums, meetings and contacts, etc., the National Assembly Chairman said that Bangladesh is a populous country with 170 million people, has an important position in the South Asian region and is Vietnam's second largest trading partner in this region.

The leaders of both countries affirmed their efforts to increase trade turnover from 1.5 billion USD to 2 billion USD and higher in the near future. Along with that, both sides hope to soon have direct flights to contribute to promoting economic, trade, investment, tourism, people-to-people exchange activities, etc., thereby bringing benefits to both sides.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Chairman reported on the recent domestic economic and social situation with positive results and vibrant foreign affairs activities; informed the people about the new visa policy that has just been applied since August 15, such as granting e-visas to citizens of all countries and territories; the e-visa duration has been increased from no more than 30 days to no more than 90 days and is valid for one or multiple entries; the temporary residence period for citizens of 13 countries that Vietnam unilaterally exempts from visas has been extended to 45 days. This is a very open policy, creating conditions for the tourism industry to develop...

The National Assembly Chairman said that the 13th Party Congress has set two goals: By 2030, the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, Vietnam will become a developing country with modern industry and high average income. By 2045, the 100th anniversary of the country's founding, Vietnam will become a high-income developed country.

To realize the aspiration of becoming a strong country, there is still much work to be done, so Vietnam must take advantage of every opportunity and every opportunity to develop the country, including promoting the role of economic diplomacy, strengthening internal strength and effectively exploiting external strength.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the working results of the Embassy's staff; wished the Embassy's staff to continue to make efforts to successfully complete the assigned tasks; and expressed his good impression after listening to the sharing of community representatives.

The National Assembly Chairman said that this is a community that is “not large but not small”, people are always united, loving and obeying the law. Sharing the situation of the Vietnamese community in some countries, the National Assembly Chairman gave practical conclusions: the solidarity, perseverance, efforts to rise up, and overcoming difficulties of the people are factors leading to success and good integration into the host society.

On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in Bangladesh, regardless of their position, would always turn towards the Fatherland, care for and strengthen the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Affirming that the Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part of the Vietnamese ethnic community, the National Assembly Chairman hopes that people will continue to teach their children Vietnamese as emphasized in Resolution 36-NQ/TW on work with overseas Vietnamese and Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW of the Politburo on work with overseas Vietnamese in the new situation.

When conditions improve, people build community and cultural institutions, aiming to connect and exchange with Vietnamese communities in other countries, especially those in the same region...
