
Accordingly, in recent days, prolonged heavy rain has caused many serious landslides on important traffic routes such as Prenn Pass (Km224+600 – Km224+700), National Highway 28 (Km47+252 – Km54+000), National Highway 20 (Km262+400 – Km262+530). Some low-lying areas were deeply flooded, affecting life, production and posing many potential high safety risks.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested communes, wards and Phu Quy Special Zone to closely monitor weather developments and promptly inform people; absolutely not to allow subjectivity or lack of information about natural disasters to occur.
Localities must review and organize the evacuation of people from areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, or deep flooding; and prepare adequate food, provisions, and means in areas that may be isolated.
The checkpoint work must be strictly maintained, not allowing people to enter dangerous areas, especially roads with signs of landslides or strong currents.
At the same time, organize forces to be ready to respond to emergencies; visit, support necessities, clean water and ensure environmental sanitation, disease prevention for affected people. Localities are required to report damage and response work before 11am every day to synthesize and advise superiors for timely direction.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committees of the communes: Ninh Gia, Tan Hoi, Duc Trong, Bao Lam 4, Bao Lam 5, Cat Tien, Cat Tien 2, Da Teh, D'Ran, Ka Do, Quang Lap and Don Duong to notify people in the downstream areas of the Don Duong, Dong Nai 3, Dong Nai 4 and Dai Ninh hydropower reservoirs to increase vigilance. The communes closely coordinate with the reservoir operators to prepare for response in case of flood discharge. People farming along rivers and streams need to be warned and guided to proactively adjust their production plans accordingly.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to be on duty, closely monitor natural disaster situations, synthesize reports and advise the Provincial People's Committee to deploy response plans and propose support in accordance with regulations.
The Department of Construction, Industry and Trade, Health and relevant agencies must support localities in repairing traffic infrastructure, disinfecting medical facilities, schools and necessary areas immediately after the flood recedes.
The Department of Finance is responsible for advising and handling proposals for support in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in accordance with legal regulations. The Binh Thuan Maritime Port Authority must increase monitoring of warning bulletins, strong wind developments at sea and promptly notify ships to proactively avoid them.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors and localities to seriously carry out their tasks, proactively coordinate, avoid passive and unexpected situations; ensure that natural disaster prevention and search and rescue work is carried out promptly and effectively, minimizing damage to the people and the State.
