Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez visited and worked with the People's Committee of Quang Nam province during his working trip to attend the 60th anniversary of the death of Heroic Martyr Nguyen Van Troi (October 15, 1964 - October 15, 2024) in Dien Ban town.

At the reception, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela to visit and work in Quang Nam province, especially to attend the event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the death of heroic martyr Nguyen Van Troi.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung expressed his gratitude and emotion for the special feelings, support and love that Venezuelan soldiers and people have given to Hero Nguyen Van Troi, to his homeland Quang Nam and to Vietnam.

At the same time, he informed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela about the visit of the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Dung - Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Nam province and the provincial delegation to attend the 60th anniversary of the Nguyen Van Troi Campaign (October 9, 1964 - October 9, 2024) organized by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung and Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez had cordial discussions on the friendly and cooperative relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and PSUV and between Quang Nam province and Venezuela.

Comrade Le Van Dung hopes that, in addition to activities to further deepen the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Venezuela, Quang Nam province wishes to cooperate with Venezuelan localities and enterprises in various fields.

Thanking the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung for the welcome, Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez expressed his honor to attend the ceremony commemorating the 60th anniversary of the martyr Nguyen Van Troi's death. At the same time, he expressed his impression of the development of Quang Nam province through his visit and fact-finding at the Chu Lai Truong Hai Production Complex of Truong Hai Automobile Group Joint Stock Company.

Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez said that despite many difficulties, Venezuela's economy has developed in recent years, with double-digit economic growth forecast for 2024. Currently, Venezuela is not as dependent on the oil economy as before, but is oriented towards multi-sector economic development. Therefore, Venezuela is ready to welcome investors, especially those from Vietnam and Quang Nam province.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung expressed his impression of Venezuela's efforts and overcoming difficulties, and hoped that in the coming time, businesses from Quang Nam and Venezuela will have many opportunities to invest in each other to contribute to promoting economic development and the relationship between the two sides.

During the Vietnamese people's resistance war against the US to save the country, along with the wave of sympathy and support from peace-loving people around the world, the Venezuelan people raised a movement to unite and support Vietnam. One of the vivid examples of this movement was in 1964, in order to save the hero Nguyen Van Troi, a guerrilla organization belonging to the inner-city unit No. 1, the capital of Caracas, kidnapped a US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel to negotiate to force the US government to release Troi, however, immediately after the US officer was released, he was taken to be executed.
