The serious accident resulted in the death of player Vo Minh Hieu. Two players Luong Quang Huy, Nguyen Phi Hung and a fan traveling with him (Mr. Hai) were injured and are currently being treated at the hospital.
Immediately after receiving the sad news about the accident of the bus carrying the Quang Nam Youth team, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan, on behalf of the VFF Standing Committee, sent his deepest condolences to the entire team, especially the family of player Vo Minh Hieu, about the loss and pain in the traffic accident of the Quang Nam Youth football team.

I hope that player Vo Minh Hieu’s family will soon overcome this painful moment. I hope that the injured players and fans will recover soon and return to football.
VFF calls on all coaches, Vietnamese football players in general and teams participating in the 2023 national second division football tournament, to turn to the family of player Vo Minh Hieu and other injured members, stand by them in this difficult time and share and support. Quang Nam Youth Team
Also today, Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi - General Secretary of VFF, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2023 National Second Division Football Tournament and representatives of the VFF Competition Organization Department were present in Quang Nam to directly offer condolences and encourage the family of player Vo Minh Hieu, encourage the leadership, coaching staff and the entire Quang Nam Youth Football Team.
VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi presented 50 million VND in support to the family of player Vo Minh Hieu as well as visited and presented support money to the two injured players and fans who are being treated at the hospital.
In the 2023 national second-class football tournament, the Quang Nam Youth team competed in Group A and just finished the first leg in third place on the rankings with 2 wins, 3 draws and only 1 loss.
