Fence items on T1 and T2 routes connecting Long Thanh airport have not been installed yet.

(DN) - On May 27, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha chaired a meeting with relevant parties on the proposal to add a fence item to ensure traffic safety during the operation of routes T1 and T2 of the traffic system connecting routes 1 and 2 of component project 3 - essential works in the airport of the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1.

At the meeting, Deputy Director of Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board Hoang Manh Chi said that the T1 route phase 1 consists of 6 lanes being invested in on both sides of the road for parallel traffic, with a design speed of 60 km/h. The T2 route is invested in 2 branches with 4 lanes running parallel to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, sharing the same roadbed with the expressway, with a design speed for the main route of 100 km/h.

Both of these routes do not have fences designed to separate the length of the route from the surrounding areas. Therefore, the unit recommends adding a fence along the route to the design to ensure safety during the operation of routes T1 and T2.

Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Huynh Tan Loc said that, for now, the fences separating the two sides of the T1 route will not be installed. Instead, the Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board will coordinate with the Long Thanh District People's Committee to study and arrange other intersection locations to solve the traffic connection. Because the land fund along the two sides of the T1 route has great potential for developing trade and services.

Mr. Loc proposed that the Provincial People's Committee assign the Long Thanh District People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to study and prepare documents to adjust the planning and supplement the system of service roads and parallel roads along both sides of route T1.

On the local side, Vice Chairman of Long Thanh District People's Committee Le Hoang Son said that the district agreed not to build a fence along this route because it would affect investment attraction according to the province's orientation, aesthetics, and urban development.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha agreed that for the time being, no fences will be built to ensure traffic safety during the operation of routes T1 and T2. Provincial leaders also said that they listened to the proposal of the Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board, however, this matter needs to be widely consulted with relevant parties.

“Dong Nai is studying the construction of an economic and free trade zone in Long Thanh district. After the general planning of Long Thanh district is basically completed, the province will collect opinions from people and businesses about the roads as well as this fence item” - the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted.
