The index chart representing the HoSE floor was green all day as market sentiment turned somewhat positive again. The VN-Index increased by more than 8.5 points after a few minutes of opening, thanks to the demand from the ATO session.
In the morning, the index tended to retest the 1,220 point mark but failed. The trio of banks, securities, and steel joined forces to support the market.
In the afternoon, green spread across the board, many pillar stocks recorded strong buying power. Thanks to that, the HoSE index surpassed 1,220 points at around 2:00 p.m. The VN-Index closed above 1,223.6 points, up more than 15 points compared to yesterday.
Ho Chi Minh City market had 329 stocks increase, while 86 stocks decreased. Leading the recovery session today were bluechips, especially FPT , CTG, MWG, BID, HPG. The VN30 basket had 25 green stocks, helping the representative index accumulate 21.5 points.
In terms of the groups that attract the most cash flow, securities are the sector with the most positive developments. FTS increased to the ceiling price of 41,050 VND per unit, with liquidity of more than 223 billion VND. Many codes accumulated impressive prices such as SSI, VCI, HCM, VND, CTS when closing 3.1-4.7% higher than the reference price.
Stocks recovered but the total transaction value on the HoSE floor decreased by nearly 2,500 billion, to about 14,300 billion VND. However, foreign investors returned to net buying 56 billion VND after 4 sessions of very strong selling.
With today's accumulation session, the market is returning to the price range close to the level before the sharp decline on August 5. Despite the recovery trend, VN-Index is still under selling pressure, while demand is weak, making it easy for tug-of-war periods to appear.
Vietcombank Securities (VCBS) recommends that investors take advantage of the fluctuations in the adjustment period next week to disburse part of their investment in stocks that tend to move in line with the recovery of the general market. Investors should also pay attention to stocks that maintain stable demand and prices that have not bounced too far from the nearest support level.
