Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city coordinate to manage, protect and promote the value of the World Heritage Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba archipelago.

Over the years, Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city have made concerted efforts to manage, protect and promote the values ​​of the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba archipelago. In particular, since Cat Ba archipelago was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage on September 16, 2023, the two local authorities have signed and implemented many cooperation regulations. Inter-provincial programs and plans have been established to preserve the original state of the ecosystem, environment and natural resources of the area, while promoting cultural values ​​and sustainable tourism .

In 2024, the Ha Long Bay Management Board and the People's Committee of Cat Hai District (Hai Phong) coordinated to carry out key tasks with a high sense of responsibility. The two sides effectively implemented the contents of the Coordination Regulations, focusing on environmental management and protection, monitoring resource exploitation activities and protecting natural landscapes. Thanks to close coordination, the outstanding values ​​of the World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago were preserved and promoted, continuing to affirm that this is a leading destination for domestic and international tourists. Conservation work always receives close direction from the authorities of Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city. Leaders at all levels emphasized the need to strengthen coordination between departments and branches, ensure effective management, and promptly handle arising issues. Thanks to that, the awareness and responsibility of the community, businesses and socio -economic organizations operating in the area have also gradually changed. Many units actively participate in environmental protection programs, preserve the landscape and minimize impacts on the area's sensitive ecosystem.

Looking to the future, in 2025, the two sides aim to continue to strengthen inspection and closely monitor activities in the heritage area. Violations related to security, order, environment and conservation will be strictly handled according to the law. At the same time, the parties will coordinate with specialized units of the two localities, advise the authorities on management work and propose sustainable development solutions.
