Join hands for the poor, leave no one behind

Officers from the Department of Homeland Security help Ms. Dao Thi Sai's family grow sugarcane.

During the period of 2021 - 2025, the unit has coordinated with agencies, units and localities to organize more than 100 volunteer and community activities, mobilizing 1,500 working days to help build more than 20 temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor and policy families with a total cost of nearly 1 billion VND. These loving homes have contributed to helping the poor have a stable place to live and work with peace of mind.

In particular, the Internal Security Department also focuses on supporting ethnic minorities, especially the Mong people, in transforming the structure of crops and livestock, and applying science and technology to production. The unit has coordinated the implementation of economic development models and projects suitable to the customs, residence and labor characteristics of the people, thereby contributing to improving productivity and changing backward farming methods.

The unit supported the family of Ms. Dao Thi Sai, Mong ethnic group, Ngoi Sen village, Yen Lam commune (Ham Yen). Her family is a poor household, in extremely difficult circumstances. Realizing the potential of the family's land suitable for sugarcane, the Internal Security Department coordinated with the People's Committee of Yen Lam commune, Minh Khuong commune police and Tuyen Quang Sugarcane Company to conduct a survey and assessment. From there, the unit decided to support Ms. Sai's family with 12 tons of sugarcane seeds and fertilizer with a total value of 20 million VND, and committed to purchasing all products after harvest. This timely support not only helped Ms. Sai reduce the burden of initial investment costs but also motivated her to feel secure in production and escape poverty.

Not only providing material support, officers and soldiers of the Internal Security Department also directly participated with Mrs. Sai in weeding, hoeing, planting sugarcane and enthusiastically advised on care techniques during each stage of plant growth. These activities not only helped Mrs. Sai’s family have an additional source of income but also strengthened the military-civilian relationship.

Sharing her emotions, Ms. Dao Thi Sai expressed: “I did not think I would receive so much help. From seeds, fertilizers to human resources and even consumption places, the police and Tuyen Quang sugar factory have all been very attentive. Thank you to the Party, the State and the forces for encouraging me to have more determination to rise up.”

Mr. Vu Van Thinh - Chairman of Yen Lam Commune People's Committee affirmed: "Supporting the development of economic models for poor households like Mrs. Sai's family is a sustainable and practical direction. The local government highly appreciates the proactive role, responsibility and spirit of the police force for the people in this movement. This is an effective way to both help people and strengthen the bond between the police force and the people."

Lieutenant Colonel Phu Duc Son, Deputy Head of the Internal Security Department, emphasized that this is one of the activities to concretize the policy of "People's Public Security forgets itself for the country, serves the people", and at the same time demonstrates the companionship of the Public Security force with people in remote areas, helping them overcome difficulties and gradually stabilize their lives.

In the coming time, the Department of Internal Security, Tuyen Quang Provincial Police will continue to closely coordinate with functional units, businesses and local authorities to implement many similar support programs, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction, building a solid people's security posture from the grassroots, determined to successfully achieve the goal of "leaving no one behind". The meaningful work of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Police force has been and is further enhancing the beautiful image of the police in the hearts of the people.
