Replicate the "5 no, 3 clean" families
Promoting the role of women in implementing the "3 clean" criteria including: clean house, clean kitchen, clean alley, the Women's Union of Thai Nguyen province has just deployed the "flower road" model in Cho Moi commune. The pilot model was implemented in the highland village of Khuan Bang, with 58/58 participating families being instructed on techniques for planting, caring for and protecting flower roads nearly 150m long. This activity contributes to creating a bright, green, clean, beautiful landscape and raising awareness of environmental protection in the community.
Sharing about the program, Ms. Luong Thi Thoi, President of the Women's Union of Cho Moi Commune, said: We hope that the flower road model will become a regular feature in Khuan Bang village and be replicated in other villages and residential areas in the area. This is also an opportunity for families to unite and take care of their living space together, contributing to the sustainable construction of new rural areas, while promoting the role of women in protecting the environment and the countryside landscape.
The campaign "Building a family of 5 no's and 3 clean's" is identified as a key task of the Women's Union at all levels of Thai Nguyen province, implemented synchronously and closely linked with the movement to build new rural areas, especially in remote and isolated areas.
Over the years, the Campaign has spread widely in Phong Quang commune, a highland area with a large population of Tay and Dao ethnic groups. Through the maintenance of 7 flower roads, waste sorting at source and 7 women-managed roads, the Campaign has contributed to changing women's thinking and working methods, while improving family life.
Up to now, more than 85% of women's union member households in Phong Quang commune have met the criteria of "5 no, 3 clean", contributing to the locality completing the criteria for building new rural areas, keeping the environment green, clean, beautiful and fostering family happiness.

According to Ms. Dinh Thi Noa, Vice President of Phong Quang Commune Women's Union: The campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" has really entered the lives of families, contributing to improving the quality of life and spreading in the community. Women actively joined forces, contributed working days, donated land, participated in concreting village roads, cleaning the environment and planting flowers to create a green, clean and beautiful landscape. These practical activities help change the face of the countryside, while affirming the important role of women in building new rural areas and promoting sustainable development in Phong Quang.
During the 2021-2025 term, grassroots women's unions at all levels in Thai Nguyen province supported 1,115 women's households in difficult circumstances, helping 22,902 families complete the 8 criteria of the campaign. During the implementation process, the unions at all levels promoted creativity, built and replicated many effective models such as: "Women's flower route", "Green house for collecting scrap", "Women say no to plastic waste", "Family of 5 yes, 3 clean", "Women start-up, economic development", "Women participate in environmental protection", "Women's self-managed security and order group"...
These models raise awareness and skills for members, while spreading positive values in the community, contributing to the formation of a civilized lifestyle and strengthening consensus in building new rural areas.
Cultivating civilized countryside
Identifying the Campaign as a key activity throughout the entire term, the Provincial Women's Union has proactively developed many creative, specific and effective solutions. The Unions at all levels focused on directing based on the actual conditions of each locality, linking the implementation of the Campaign with the movement "Thai Nguyen/ Bac Kan join hands to build new rural areas".

During the implementation process, the Association paid special attention to instructing members to classify and treat waste according to criterion 17.8 (waste classification in the set of criteria for building new rural areas) and criterion 18.7 (bathrooms, hygienic water storage facilities, safe toilets), ensuring the "3 clean" criteria in building model new rural areas.
Up to now, the whole province has built 2,772 "Family of 5 no, 3 clean" and "Family of 5 yes, 3 clean" clubs along with many green, clean and beautiful self-managed roads, contributing to improving the quality of life of women, families and communities, while actively contributing to the construction of new rural areas in the locality.
The campaign has positively impacted the awareness and behavior of members, contributing to changing the face of the countryside, promoting the program of building new rural areas. Thanks to the joint efforts of women's unions at all levels and functional sectors, many other organizations and unions, 42/77 communes in the area have reached the new rural and advanced new rural target. Women's union members actively participated in implementing 591 practical works and projects, donating more than 12,900m2 of land for rural roads.
The association at all levels synchronously deploys activities, focusing on propaganda and education on knowledge and skills to organize family life, prevent violence, abandon backward customs, care for women and girls in ethnic minority areas, and at the same time replicate pilot models.
At the same time, coordinate to organize communication, training, competitions on safe food production and consumption, reproductive health care, gender imbalance at birth and programs "Warm and loving family meals", "Happy family, loving connection", with more than 200,000 members participating.
Activities to protect women's and children's rights were effectively implemented, supporting and advising 12 families of victims of violence and abuse, contributing to enhancing the role and responsibility of women and the trust of members in the organization.

In addition, the Provincial Women's Union also focuses on connecting the community, encouraging families to exchange experiences, support each other in economic development, and implement the criteria of "5 no, 3 clean". Many families have become typical examples in building green, clean, and beautiful landscapes, both developing production and preserving the environment, spreading positive spirit throughout society.
According to the representative of the Women's Union of Thai Nguyen province, the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no's and 3 clean's" has become an important driving force in improving the material and spiritual life of each family, contributing to building a new rural area, preserving a clean and sustainable living environment.
The success of the Campaign is demonstrated through both practical works and tasks and positive changes in awareness, habits and actions of each family and each member. This is a solid foundation for women's associations at all levels to continue to accompany the community, towards a comprehensively developed, civilized and happy society.
