The program of Reviewing the contingent and Mass Parade is organized with the purpose of praising the contingent, the maturity of the forces in the renovation and development process, and at the same time honoring the glorious historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions of Hai Phong city. Representing the proud 70-year journey since Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955), depicting the strong transformation of the city throughout the development process. This is also an opportunity to arouse the aspiration to rise, the dynamic, creative spirit and the determination to constantly break through of the Heroic Port City on the journey of integration and comprehensive development.

Speaking at the opening of the Program, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong emphasized that after the Geneva Agreement in 1954, Hai Phong became one of the last areas in the North still controlled by the French army. During the 300 days of implementing the agreement, from August 1954 to May 13, 1955, the army and people of Hai Phong waged a comprehensive and persistent struggle on the political, economic, military and cultural fronts. Under the leadership of the Party, the people resolutely fought against sabotage and forced migration plots; workers proactively protected machinery and assets in preparation for the takeover; armed forces operated secretly waiting for the opportunity; propaganda work helped strengthen confidence in victory. On May 13, 1955, the French army withdrew from Hai Phong, marking the victory of the intellectual, brave and united struggle of the entire people. The event also officially closed the implementation of the Geneva Agreement in the North, opening a period of construction, development and becoming a great rear base for the resistance war against the US later.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the struggle to liberate Hai Phong was a typical example of the strength of national unity, demonstrating the indomitable will, not to yield to the enemy, and the steadfast belief in the Party and the revolutionary path. That victory contributed to the glorious victory of the nation, opening a new period of development for Hai Phong and the country. After 70 years of construction and development, Hai Phong today is not only a dynamic and modern port city, but also a symbol of the will to rise, the desire for development and the deep love for the homeland.

At this sacred moment, the Party Committee, the Government and the People of the city respectfully commemorate the great President Ho Chi Minh, pay tribute to the revolutionary predecessors, heroic martyrs, and the forces who sacrificed and devoted themselves to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the cause of liberating Hai Phong. Promoting the heroic tradition, Hai Phong is determined to successfully achieve the socio-economic development goals, building the city to be increasingly rich, beautiful, civilized and modern, worthy of the role of the country's development locomotive in the new era.

Before the parade and parade program began, the song “Red Flamboyant City” was played, creating a complete atmosphere for the ceremony. Immediately after that, the parade and parade program took place with 48 participating groups, including 42 parade groups and a large-displacement motorcycle convoy. The parade groups included 4 ceremonial groups, 17 armed forces groups and 21 mass groups from agencies, units and localities in the city. In addition, there were 6 groups standing as a background for the parade, with a total of about 2,900 participants.

Representatives of business associations, foreign communities, international students, and Hai Phong's friendship cities participated in the parade.

The marching blocks follow the route: Tran Hung Dao - through the City Theater Square - Quang Trung - in front of the monument of Female General Le Chan - Nguyen Duc Canh - Tran Phu.

Both sides of the streets where the Rehearsal and Mass Parade took place were brightly colored in red, attracting tens of thousands of people and tourists to participate and cheer. In response to the important event, the people of the Port City were encouraged to wear red shirts, hold the national flag and wave to the Parade Groups. The Organizing Committee also prepared flags and arranged them along the streets, and distributed them for free to the people, contributing to creating a solemn and vibrant atmosphere, expressing the patriotism and pride of the people of the Port City on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day.

The program of Rehearsal and Mass Parade to Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025) opened up a colorful space, where historical traditions intersect with the spirit of modernity and integration.
