On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025), on the evening of November 30, at the Lao National Cultural Palace in the capital Vientiane, the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Cultural Program took place.
Attending the program were General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith; Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone; along with many senior leaders of the Lao Party and State; and leaders of Lao ministries, departments and branches.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam and a large number of Vietnamese and Vientiane people also attended the program.
In his opening speech, Lao Minister of Culture and Tourism Suansavanh Viyaket emphasized that the program is a meaningful activity that contributes to educating the young generation about the revolutionary tradition, resilient spirit and outstanding achievements of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party in the cause of national construction and development.
The performances were elaborately staged by Lao artists, with the participation of artists from Vietnam, praising President Kaysone Phomvihane; and at the same time honoring the country and people of Laos in the journey of nearly 40 years of renovation and 50 years of building Laos.
Music, dance and performing arts recreated the image of a Laos that is changing strongly, integrating deeply but still maintaining its traditional cultural identity. Viewers can clearly feel the gentle, hospitable beauty of the Lao people, along with the peaceful space, rich in the identity of Laos.
Artists from Laos and Vietnam also performed performances honoring the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam and Vietnam and Laos.
The blend of unique traditional art styles and creative, modern elements has created an emotional performance space, both imbued with cultural identity and reflecting the breath of the new era.
The performance is not only a meaningful spiritual gift to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day, but also a vivid symbol of the exemplary, loyal and pure relationship between Laos and Vietnam./.
