Transforming the industrial model towards ecology and high technology: Government and businesses join hands
In the context of sustainable economic development becoming increasingly mandatory, Binh Dinh province is gradually realizing the goal of developing a green economy and a circular economy. The Department of Industry and Trade, together with related sectors and enterprises, has implemented many synchronous solutions to minimize negative impacts on the environment while improving the quality of economic growth.
Proactive technological innovation
In the context of the whole province focusing on transforming the industrial model towards ecology, high technology, clean production, using renewable and circular energy, industrial parks such as Phu Tai, Nhon Hoi, Becamex are playing a pioneering role in building an environmentally friendly production ecosystem, attracting investors according to green standards.

Many enterprises have proactively invested in renewable energy systems, circulating wastewater treatment, and applied advanced technology to reduce emissions and save energy. A typical example is Tan Dai Hung General Company Limited (Nhon Hoi Industrial Park, Quy Nhon City), specializing in the production of metal products combined with imitation rattan for export to markets with strict technical and environmental requirements such as the US and Europe.
Mr. Tran Quang Lap, company representative, shared: In addition to the closed production process, the company also invested in automatic painting lines and automatic knitting machines to increase productivity and ensure consistent quality. Currently, the company is expanding the scale of the factory and promoting automation to improve competitiveness.
Phu Tai Binh Dinh Wood Company Limited (Cat Nhon Industrial Park, Phu Cat District) is also actively applying environmentally friendly technology in wood processing. The company's new factory uses an automated robotic technology system, helping to increase productivity, product quality and minimize environmental impact.
Owning 5 factories with a total area of nearly 100 thousand m², a capacity of 30,000 products/month, creating stable jobs for more than 1,000 workers, Hoang Giang Trading Company Limited (Phuoc Thanh Commune, Tuy Phuoc) is one of the pioneering enterprises in Vietnam in the field of outdoor furniture and upholstery. The company's products are manufactured according to international standards with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, SMETA, BSCI, FSC certification, ensuring quality, social responsibility and environmental protection. With a strategy of continuous innovation, investment in design, technology and market expansion, the company aims to become the leading outdoor furniture manufacturer in Southeast Asia. Mr. Le Quang Bao Anh, Deputy Director of the Company, said: We focus on producing high quality products, using materials that are suitable for the trend, investing in modern equipment and closed production lines for sustainable development.
Towards sustainable industrial development
Green transformation is no longer an option but a must for businesses. Mr. To Xuan Phuc, expert of Forest Trends Vietnam (a non-profit organization that aims to increase the contribution of forests and sustainable forest management to the lives of local communities), warned: If businesses do not quickly transform towards sustainability, the risk of losing the market is very high. Importing countries are applying strict technical barriers, especially requirements on traceability of legal wood origin and environmental certification. Businesses must act promptly, otherwise they will be eliminated from the global supply chain.
In fact, Binh Dinh province has been forming a modern, low-emission, energy-efficient industrial base. Currently, enterprises are encouraged to utilize factory roofs to invest in solar power, both saving costs and contributing to increasing the proportion of clean energy in production.
Along with that, the Department of Industry and Trade is building a roadmap to support small and medium-sized enterprises in accessing green technology, applying circular economic models, connecting sustainable supply chains and effectively exploiting green financial mechanisms; strengthening inspection and supervision of the implementation of environmental commitments.
At a working session with representatives of industrial parks and industrial clusters in early April 2025, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized: Converting industrial parks and industrial clusters towards ecology is no longer a choice, but a mandatory requirement in the current period. For industrial parks and industrial clusters in operation, there needs to be a specific roadmap to gradually transform into an ecological model, applying clean technology, saving energy, and ensuring waste treatment meets standards. Particularly for new industrial parks and industrial clusters, construction and operation according to an ecological industrial model is a prerequisite. This is an important factor to meet the increasingly strict green standards of major export markets such as the US and Europe.
