(CPV) - Experts believe that in Vietnam's new era of development, the culture of saving will continue to spread throughout society, and the construction of a model of a saving society will continue to achieve substantial results.

Responding to a VNA reporter in China about the article “Fighting Waste” by General Secretary To Lam published recently, Mr. Lang Duc Quyen (Ling Dequan), a researcher on Vietnamese issues, said that the article presented in depth and comprehensively another important task that Vietnam needs to carry out when facing the historical opportunity of the “era of national rise”, which is the task of fighting waste and practicing thrift.

According to Mr. Lang Duc Quyen, this is both urgent and practical for Vietnam, under the correct leadership of the Communist Party, to accelerate comprehensive development, in order to increase resources to realize the two century goals. This researcher assessed that the achievements in the fight against the "internal invader" called Corruption in Vietnam have made a great echo, the work of building a clean and strong political system has achieved many outstanding results. This is one of the basic measures to ensure the stable development and long-term prosperity of Vietnam.

Regarding the issue of combating waste, according to him, the Communist Party of Vietnam led by General Secretary To Lam has launched a strong attack on this "internal invader" called Waste. He believes that this is a correct action, which will help save and make the most of the country's resources, improve the work efficiency of all sectors and fields, and effectively contribute to the implementation of the tasks and goals set by the 13th National Party Congress and the 10th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee.

Researcher Lang Duc Quyen emphasized that the resources of a country or even the entire planet are not infinite. Building a frugal social model is an objective need and development strategy, reflecting a new awareness of the relationship between humans and nature, and a sense of responsibility for the sustainable development of human society.

The culture of thrift is the spiritual driving force for building a thrifty society. When fighting waste and practicing thrift becomes a national policy, when thrift is respected and popularized in society, becoming a habit, a civilized lifestyle of each person, then building a thrifty society can turn from an idea into reality. Mr. Lang Duc Quyen believes that in the new era of development of Vietnam, the culture of thrift will continue to spread throughout society, and the building of a thrifty society model will continue to achieve substantial results.

Speaking to a VNA reporter in China, Vietnam research expert and Head of the Vietnamese Service of China Central Radio and Television Wei Wei (Weiwei) also said that extravagance and waste are big problems. Because extravagance and waste deviate from the nation's fine cultural and moral traditions, sabotage the Party building and government building work, and negatively affect society. If waste is allowed to spread, it will act as an invisible wall separating the Party from the people, the Party will lose its strength, and lose its solid foundation, which is the people.

To end waste, in addition to strict sanctions, it is necessary to cultivate the habit of saving, considering waste as something shameful and condemnable, while saving as something to be proud of and glorious. This is a long-term task, but also very urgent. He believes that building an anti-waste culture is an important measure to effectively implement the fight against waste. It is necessary to establish a strict mechanism to "not dare, not be able" to waste, and to make "not wanting" to waste a social ethical standard.

To form these good cultural values, according to expert Ngu Vi, first of all, we must strengthen propaganda, guidance, and instill the idea of "saving is glorious, wasting is shameful" in every cadre and citizen, so that this idea can spread throughout society. Second, we must form a long-term mechanism, seek motivation from the institution. We need to strengthen legislation as well as supervision, and implement more specific and effective measures to end wasteful behavior. Third, we must thoroughly understand the idea in all sectors and localities, that waste is also considered corruption, and thrift is a measure of the effectiveness of government building work. Party and government agencies and leaders must take the lead in setting an example, one level doing for the other level to see, one place learning from the experience of another. Finally, to combat waste, we need to form a green lifestyle. From saving food to refusing overconsumption, forming a moderate, green, low-carbon lifestyle and consumption, this is the basis for gradually eliminating wasteful behavior, building a civilized and progressive society./.
