Implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor, near-poor and meritorious households; Le Loi commune has 36 houses that need to be rebuilt and repaired after review. The resources for implementation largely depend on capital from the national target program. Identifying this as one of the key and urgent tasks, the commune has focused on synchronous implementation, with the participation of the entire political system.

Proactively arrange residents in risk areas in Nam Nhun
From the direction of the authorities at all levels, the participation of armed forces, mass organizations; the solidarity of people in the villages. In less than 3 months of implementation, by mid-May the commune had completed the construction and repair of houses for 36 households, of which 20 were newly built; 16 were repaired, reaching 100% of the plan, 1 month ahead of schedule compared to the direction of Nam Nhun district and Lai Chau province.
Ms. Lo Thi Tuyen in Ban Chang confided: “I am a single parent and often sick. I never dared to think that one day I would have a spacious, solid house to protect me from the wind and rain. Thanks to the support of the commune government and the villagers who came to help, what I never thought I would have has come true; now I feel very satisfied and at ease...”.

Co Mun village, Le Loi commune is a resettlement village, so the cultivated land area is small, people's lives depend heavily on agricultural production; people's income is still unstable. From the source of the national target program project on socio -economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, at the end of 2024, Le Loi commune supported people in the village to implement a model of raising native commercial pigs.
With 20 participating households, each household was supported with 13 breeding pigs and feed. During the raising process, households were supported with technical care and barn hygiene to ensure the pigs grew healthily. After more than 4 months of care and raising; when selling pigs with high efficiency, households participating in the project invested in expanding the area and scale of raising pigs.
Ms. Luong Thi Thai, one of the participants in the model, said that the development of commercial pigs focuses on high efficiency and quick harvest. Each household in our group keeps 3 female pigs to be bred as sows, and the rest is invested in new breeds to restore the herd. Currently, the size of the pig herd has increased compared to when we started the model. This is truly a lifebuoy that helps us develop the economy; hopefully, the breeding will continue to be favorable.

Similar to Co Mun, the model of raising native pigs for sale was also deployed to the community of Lao Chen, Cho and Chang villages with 18 households participating in the implementation of introducing breeds into pig farming to develop a fast-growing, disease-free pig herd. With a total of 520 pigs supported, after the first batch, people sold 400 pigs with more than 32 tons of live pigs, earning more than 2.2 billion VND. The remaining 120 pigs were kept and turned into sows to expand the scale of farming.
Ms. Po Thi Hanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Nam Nhun district, commented: Regarding the pig farming model, we have assessed that it is quite effective over time. The native pig breed is omnivorous, easy to raise and suitable for the local climate. People can take advantage of the abundant food sources around their homes and in the forest. Up to now, people have been raising this breed of pig and have experience; therefore, when bringing the model back, we only need to instruct people to change the farming method and prevent diseases for the pig herd to develop well.

According to Mr. Phan Van Tien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Le Loi commune, in addition to the commercial pig farming model, from the support capital of the national target program, the commune has also successfully built a beekeeping model, growing fruit trees such as pineapple, mango... Currently, the whole commune has 4 hectares of pineapple for harvest with an average income of 50 million/ha; 28 hectares of mango, of which 19 hectares have been harvested with a yield of more than 6 tons/ha, the average income per hectare brings in more than 70 million. The whole commune's bee colony currently has more than 150 boxes and is continuing to multiply....
In general, the implementation of national target programs in the commune has achieved many unexpected results, the appearance of Le Loi commune has changed a lot. 100% of villages have concrete roads that are regularly upgraded and repaired for convenient travel; 100% of schools, classrooms and medical stations are solidly built; 100% of households have access to the national grid; in 2024, the average income per capita will double compared to 2021, reaching 40 million VND/person/year. The poverty rate will decrease from 13.6% in 2021 to 6.05% at the end of 2024; the commune has achieved 18/19 criteria for new rural construction...
It can be affirmed that the national target program creates motivation to promote the development of economic models, create jobs and increase income for local people. From there, it fundamentally and comprehensively changes the rural face of Le Loi commune today.
