On June 18, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province sent a document to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , reflecting that the investor, Dak Drinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company (under the Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation), has not yet repaired the remaining damage on the more than 8km long road, connecting to resettlement and resettlement areas in Dak Nen and Dak Ring communes.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the cause is due to personnel changes and the contractor's lack of construction capacity. The road is currently in serious disrepair, with frequent landslides during the rainy season, threatening the safety of people and vehicles.
Kon Tum province proposed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to direct the Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation and Dak Drinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company to urgently complete, accept the road and hand it over to the locality before the flood season in August 2025.
The Dak Drinh Hydropower Project (built in Kon Plong District, Kon Tum Province and Son Tay District, Quang Ngai Province) has a capacity of 125MW, invested by Dak Drinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company (under the Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation). The project started in 2009 and completed reservoir water storage in October 2013. However, over the past 12 years, the flood avoidance road has not been completed, causing many difficulties for local people, as SGGP Newspaper has reported many times.
