In early November, Gia Lai’s key coffee growing areas such as Chu Prong, Ia Grai and Dak Doa became bustling as they entered the new harvest season. Farmers were excited because this year had both a good harvest and good prices, creating an exciting working atmosphere throughout the farms. The sharp increase in domestic coffee prices in recent times has given farmers more motivation, especially after many years of being affected by unstable prices and erratic weather.
According to experts, this price increase stems from many different causes. Global coffee supply, especially Robusta coffee, is under pressure due to adverse weather in major producing countries such as Brazil. Meanwhile, coffee consumption continues to increase globally, especially in emerging markets, contributing to the sustainable price increase of "brown gold".
Figures from the General Statistics Office show that in the first 10 months of 2025, Vietnam exported about 1.31 million tons of coffee, up 13.4% over the same period last year. The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) forecasts that if the weather is favorable, the 2025-2026 crop output could increase by about 10% compared to the previous crop. Although some forecasts suggest that coffee prices may adjust slightly as major producing countries enter their peak harvest season, given current supply and demand, prices are likely to remain high in the near future.
Update world coffee prices
On the London Stock Exchange, the online price of Robusta coffee futures for January 2026 delivery closed on November 8 at $4,648 per ton, up 2.6% ($118 per ton) from yesterday. The March 2026 futures contract increased 2.45% ($109 per ton) to $4,567 per ton.

Similarly, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in December 2025 on the New York Stock Exchange increased by 2.79% (11.05 US cents/pound) yesterday to 407.8 US cents/pound. The contract for delivery in March 2026 increased by 1.79% (6.8 US cents/pound) to 385.85 US cents/pound.

Last week, the coffee market witnessed a strong recovery after the previous period of price decline. Robusta coffee prices for November 2025 delivery increased by 138 USD/ton, while Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery increased by 15.75 cents/pound.
The main reason for the increase in coffee prices is the sharp decrease in inventories on the exchanges, along with the impact of floods in Vietnam. The market was under pressure mid-week when news broke that Brazil had shipped 150,000 bags of Arabica to Europe to obtain certification, causing coffee prices to temporarily fall. However, by the end of the week, prices had rebounded as the harvest in Vietnam slowed down, reducing short-term supplies.
In key growing areas in the Central Highlands such as Chu Prong, Ia Grai and Dak Doa (Gia Lai), the harvest atmosphere in early November became bustling. Farmers were excited because this year had both a good harvest and good prices. It was recorded that the price of fresh coffee in Gia Lai reached about 25,000 VND/kg, while that of dry coffee fluctuated around 118,000 VND/kg, much higher than the beginning of the season in previous years. This price not only helped coffee growers earn a significant additional income but also contributed to bringing an optimistic atmosphere to the entire Central Highlands.
