Support businesses in applying AI

As one of the pioneering enterprises in the field of AI development in Da Nang city, Mr. Phan Thanh Tuan (Anthony Tuan Phan), CEO of Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Joint Stock Company (AIAIVN), said that if in the past traditional resources and investment capital were the main factors, today knowledge and technology, especially AI, are becoming the core driving force for development.

Leaders in the digital age not only need vision but also need to know how to transform data into knowledge and knowledge into action. AI is not just a support tool, but is becoming a new management thinking platform, helping businesses reshape their operating models, optimize their value chains and make decisions based on practical data.

Da Nang is implementing a sandbox model to build a digital financial center, creating a flexible testing environment for startups and financial institutions to develop new business models related to blockchain technology, digitalization and AI. However, businesses hope that the city will soon complete the legal framework so that the testing scope can be expanded throughout the area, instead of being limited to a few areas.

Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said that in the period of 2025 - 2030, the city has identified science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as three key growth drivers. Accordingly, the department is coordinating with associations, universities and start-up support organizations to promote technology transfer, especially the application of AI in strategic thinking and business management.

“AI application is no longer the story of large corporations but is becoming a practical need of small and medium enterprises. To implement effectively, it requires policy support, access to technology and connection with research and solution consulting units,” said Ms. Thuc.

Practical effectiveness

In the logistics sector, many businesses are deploying intelligent warehouse management systems (AI-WMS) and automated transport coordination platforms, allowing real-time tracking of vehicles, routes and operational performance. Mr. Bui Tran Nhan Tri, Deputy General Director of Truong Hai International Transport and Logistics Co., Ltd., believes that AI applications help businesses reduce manual errors, optimize costs and accurately forecast transport volumes based on historical and real-time data, helping businesses plan better.

Similarly, construction companies are applying AI in design, construction and operation to increase efficiency and reduce risks. However, according to companies in this field, to make full use of the potential, it is necessary to invest in data, technology and high-quality human resources.

Ms. Nguyen Thi No, Chief Accountant of Inno Floors Joint Stock Company, shared that in the past, data entry and document reconciliation were very stressful for her because they required high accuracy. When applying AI tools, the system automatically classified invoices, identified costs and warned of errors, which significantly reduced the amount of manual work.

“It is important that we have more time to analyze and advise leaders on financial policies. It can be said that AI does not replace humans, but helps people work smarter. Proactively approaching and applying AI will help businesses improve their competitiveness, optimize resources and create sustainable development advantages,” said Ms. No.

According to Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu, the city strongly encourages individuals and businesses to apply AI in economic development. However, the application needs to be done intelligently, effectively and responsibly. He emphasized that the city always welcomes start-up projects and innovative products that solve practical problems, especially solutions to support the two-tier government model, serving people in remote areas.

“Application of AI is not to follow trends, but must aim for clear results: improving governance capacity, promoting growth and serving people better,” Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu emphasized.
