Trang Dinh Regional Power Management Team is currently supplying electricity to more than 21 thousand customers. Recently, in order to improve the quality and professionalism in business operations as well as customer service, the team has promoted the replacement of gas electricity meters with electronic meters with remote measurement function for customers using electricity in the area.
Mr. Lanh Van Hop, Team Leader of the Trang Dinh Regional Electricity Management Team, said: Up to now, the team has installed electronic meters with remote measurement function for 100% of electricity customers in the management area. The deployment of the electronic meter system with remote measurement function is a step forward in the approach, converting the manual model to automatic in data collection to data processing and analysis. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of service business, towards customer satisfaction.
Not only the Trang Dinh Regional Power Management Team, by the end of October 2025, the regional power management teams under Lang Son Power Company had installed 267,191 electronic meters, reaching 99.91% of the total number of electricity meters. Of which, the number of electronic meters that have been installed with a remote data collection system, capable of remote measurement and automatic index recording is 257,153 meters, reaching 96.16% of electricity meters.
Mr. Hoang Anh Duc, Deputy Head of Business Department, Lang Son Electricity Company said: In the past, to implement electricity measurement, Lang Son electricity officials had to directly record electricity indexes with the naked eye, which took a lot of time and manpower, and posed a safety risk when having to climb and come into close contact with electrical equipment. With the use of electronic meters with remote measurement function, the index recording is done completely automatically with high accuracy.
The application of remote measurement technology using electronic meters through connection with the CMIS system (common software in electricity business applied uniformly nationwide), metering data warehouse, MDMS system (metering data management) also helps customers in the province to easily monitor electricity usage anytime, anywhere. Through self-monitoring data on the system, customers calculate and compare electricity consumption according to each period of time corresponding to the time of the previous month to proactively adjust electricity usage habits in a saving and effective direction. At the same time, customers can also easily control information about electricity bills, electricity debt, meter reading schedules, as well as power outage schedules, instructions on safe electricity use, economical electricity use, etc.
Mr. Pham Cong Phong, Luong Van Tri ward said: Through the utility of looking up parameters on electricity consumption and the amount of money to be paid, it has helped me adjust my daily electricity consumption, thereby avoiding the case of high electricity bills without knowing.
In addition to the benefits for customers, installing electronic meters with remote measurement function also helps the electricity industry reduce labor costs, contributing to increasing labor productivity. With regular data collection frequency, electricity industry staff can easily monitor the operating parameters of each measuring point, promptly detect cases of overcurrent, full load, phase deviation to develop a solution to minimize incidents.
Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of Lang Son Electricity Company, said: Recently, based on the request of the regional electricity management teams, the company has provided materials and equipment for the teams to carry out the rolling installation of each transformer station. During the implementation process, there are supervisions to ensure safety measures. This has helped the rate of installation of electronic meters with remote measurement function in the province to be high.
The remote measurement technology using electronic meters has been deployed by Lang Son electricity industry in recent times, not only facilitating the management and operation of the power grid system, but also ensuring transparency for electricity customers. Putting the electronic meter system with remote measurement function into operation has brought many outstanding conveniences.
