
On the evening of November 9, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said it had received reports from 8 hospitals that admitted patients suspected of food poisoning after eating bread.
To date, 171 cases have been recorded, of which 65 patients are being treated as inpatients. Most of the patients ate bread at the bakery's first location on Nguyen Thai Son Street (Hanh Thong Ward, HCMC), while others bought bread at the second location on Le Quang Dinh Street (Binh Loi Trung Ward, HCMC).

Specifically: Military Hospital 175 received 100 cases, Tam Anh General Hospital 20 cases, Gia Dinh People's Hospital 36 cases, Binh Dan Hospital 1 case, My Duc Tan Binh Hospital 1 case, Becamex International Hospital 6 cases, Trung My Tay General Hospital 5 cases, Children's Hospital 2 HCMC 2 cases.
Most of the patients were treated stably and discharged. Among the inpatient cases, a 28-year-old pregnant woman showed signs of premature labor, and one case required intensive care.
Verification results of the People's Committee of Hanh Thong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, show that the bakery on Nguyen Thai Son Street has a business registration certificate issued by the People's Committee of Go Vap District (old) in 2020, and a certificate of knowledge on food safety issued in 2017. At the time of inspection, the store had stopped operating, the foods (ham, cold cuts, pate, eggs, vegetables, chili...) had clear invoices and documents, there was a refrigerator to preserve food, there was a book to record the import and export of goods, processing and preservation tools ensured hygiene; the processing area had a roof, with measures to protect against insects and harmful animals. The second facility of the bakery (Le Quang Dinh Street, Binh Loi Trung Ward) also stopped operating.
