Ready for the agricultural and rural census

The Rural and Agricultural Census is a large-scale statistical survey, of special importance for planning policies and strategies for agricultural, farmer and rural development. Clearly recognizing that importance, Quang Ninh has been focusing on and carefully preparing all aspects, ready for the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census in accordance with the Government's direction, ensuring progress, quality, safety and efficiency.

Quang Ninh organized a training conference for the 2025 rural and agricultural census of Quang Ninh province.

The rural and agricultural census is one of the three largest statistical censuses, organized every 10 years. The objective is to assess the current situation, analyze changing trends, develop plans and strategies for sustainable development in rural areas and the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, thereby improving the living standards of rural people in the province. At the same time, build a database to serve in-depth research to serve the research and assessment of the scale and structure of rural labor and agricultural, forestry and fishery labor, changes in rural infrastructure, and the implementation of some contents of national programs and targets in the rural and agricultural, forestry and fishery sectors to improve the quality of people's lives.

Immediately after the Government's direction, the Steering Committee for the General Census of Rural and Agricultural Areas in Quang Ninh Province was strengthened. The Steering Committee issued a specific implementation plan, assigned tasks to each member and built a roadmap to carry out the work to ensure the set progress.

With significant changes and improvements in the implementation process, the 2025 rural and agricultural census has many new points compared to previous censuses, collecting information with a more complete coverage level. Quang Ninh pays special attention to preparing quality human resources for the survey. Up to now, the whole province has reviewed, selected, and trained a team of investigators and supervisors with strict requirements on ethics, professional skills, and the ability to apply information technology. Training is carried out synchronously at the provincial, district, and commune levels, ensuring that all investigators master the process, methods, and technical requirements when collecting data.

At the same time, the information technology infrastructure system has also been reviewed and strengthened. Quang Ninh has proactively coordinated with telecommunications enterprises to ensure stable transmission lines and information security during the investigation process. This is the premise for widely applying the form of data collection using handheld electronic devices (CAPI), minimizing the use of paper forms, contributing to improving the quality and accuracy of data and saving time and costs.

Identifying propaganda as one of the key tasks contributing to the success of the General Census, Quang Ninh province has directed departments, branches and localities to promote information and propaganda activities on mass media. Press agencies, grassroots radio systems, social networks, and electronic information portals of departments, branches and localities have all joined in, reporting promptly and accurately on the purpose, meaning, content and requirements of the census.

The propaganda content focuses on emphasizing the responsibilities and obligations of households, organizations and businesses in providing complete and honest information. At the same time, clarifying the significance of the census for policy making on agricultural, farmer and rural development; serving the construction of advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas, and sustainable and comprehensive rural economic development.

With a high sense of responsibility of the entire political system, careful preparation of human resources, facilities, technology and communication, Quang Ninh is now completely ready for the day of launching the general census of rural areas and agriculture according to the plan of the Central Government. Quang Ninh aims to collect complete, accurate and timely information on the current situation of rural areas and agriculture; ensure no duplication, no omission of survey subjects; at the same time strictly comply with regulations on the confidentiality of personal information and data of organizations and households. It is expected that by the end of July 2025, the province will complete the collection of information and compile reports in October 2025.
