Quang Ninh spends more than 1,700 billion VND on school milk policy

At the 33rd Session (special session) held on November 14, the People's Council of Quang Ninh province passed a Resolution regulating school milk support for preschool and primary school students in the area from the 2025-2026 school year to the 2030-2031 school year.

This is one of the social security policies prioritized by the province to improve physical strength and nutrition for children, contributing to creating a foundation for long-term development for future generations.

According to calculations, the total provincial budget for the school milk program in the above period is up to 1,725 billion VND. Chairwoman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province, Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, requested relevant departments and branches to soon issue guidelines for timely and synchronous implementation, putting the policy into practice, creating clear effects for children and students.

The school milk support policy applies to all children studying at preschools and primary school students in the province, with the consent of their parents.

According to regulations, at nursery schools, children will drink 110 ml of milk per day; preschoolers and primary school students will drink 180 ml of milk per day. Each school year, the number of days supported is equivalent to the number of days of direct study, but not more than 175 days. School milk must be sterilized fresh milk, meeting all national technical standards, ensuring food safety conditions.

Also at the meeting, the Provincial People's Council passed many important resolutions on social security and socio-economic development. Notable ones include regulations on tuition fees for public educational institutions, tuition support policies for preschool children and primary school students at private institutions; regulations on annual Tet gift giving for social policy beneficiaries and special target groups.

In addition, the People's Council of Quang Ninh province also approved the adjustment of the public investment plan for 2025; the policy of converting forest use purposes to implement projects in 2025; regulations on business registration fees for business households and cooperatives in the period of 2026 - 2030; preferential credit policy through the Provincial Social Policy Bank in the period of 2026 - 2030; and policies to support the prevention of animal diseases.
