After seven decades of development, the school has trained more than 100,000 engineers, bachelors, masters and doctors, affirming its pioneering position in research and science transfer to serve Vietnam's agriculture and economy .

At the event, the school announced its new development orientation with the mission of creating a knowledge-technology ecosystem for modern and sustainable agriculture , in the spirit of "Innovation to serve the community - Connection to reach the world".

The school aims for a green, digital, research-based, and international-standard university model, focusing on two strategic spearheads: Science - Technology and training innovation.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry received the Second Class Labor Medal awarded by the President, on the occasion of its 70th anniversary.

The school promotes the fields of smart agriculture, circular economy, sustainable energy; applying AI, IoT, Big Data, blockchain and biotechnology to transform traditional agriculture. Projects such as bioenergy from waste, climate-adaptive plant and animal varieties, traceability of agricultural products, etc. demonstrate the orientation of "Agriculture for a green planet".

In training, the school has strongly transformed into a digital university model with a synchronous LMS system, 70% of E-learning subjects, 100% of courses with digital learning materials; at the same time, opening new majors, international programs and promoting liberal education. The school has signed more than 150 international cooperation agreements, connecting more than 200 businesses according to the "co-creation" model between training - research - transfer - start-up.

Identifying university autonomy as the foundation for innovation, the school prioritizes investment in infrastructure, laboratories, high-tech agriculture and developing elite staff, aiming to become an internationally prestigious research university by 2045.

The school was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President. In addition, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Thanh Hung was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal; Dr. Bui Ngoc Hung received the Third Class Labor Medal.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc highly appreciated the school's efforts in training, applied research and international cooperation.

He suggested that the school continue to develop high-tech industries, promote digital transformation, expand business cooperation and invest heavily in teaching staff, especially PhDs, along with streamlined and efficient facilities and administration.
